Happened to chance upon this place next to OG.. As ramen santouka was closed at 11plus am.. The soup broth is very fragrant with the black garlic oil but isn't as thick as I would like it to be like ramen keisuke.. The pork cutlet was so good $7.. We had to order 2 more! freshly fried and absolutely delicious! their lunch sets during weekdays are only $6.. Wish I could come and try that out! looks super value for money!Their gyozas are so so, nothing fancy.

Stumbled into this ramen stall while shopping at OG, I was confused by the many many types of ramen in the menu. So I asked and this is what they explained to me. There are only two soup types, black garlic (non-spicy) and red oil (spicy). Then you can choose if you want 1 or 5 slices of pork. Then the choices are if you want normal green onions (Ramen), or with shredded green white onions (Negi Ramen), or with Vege and corn (Hachi Fuku Maru Ramen). They are fried cutlet version and other rice options but the main focus are ramen.

Another plus point is that their char-shui is really tender and flavourful too! In my opinion, better than Baikohken in Taka.

I love their soft eggs too. They serve theirs chilled and in a small saucer, very cute indeed.

We won't travel there specially for their ramen but if in the area, we'll be there!

Lacated inside Orchard OG,level one, this is definitely a great for a quiet lunch. When I entered the shop, there is only another male customer other than me. However as the place is, the service here is relatively warm. I was greeted when I sat down and when my food is served.I ordered a curry rice lunch set and it costs only $6 inclusive of GST and service charge. Cheap as It's, the food serving is not small. I ordered a curry rice lunch set and it costs only $6 inclusive of GST and service charge. Cheap as It's, the food serving is not small. Average rice portion with a palm size chicken katsu and of cos the yummilious Japanese curry. On top of that, there is also a half boilded egg and a bowl of seaweed soup served together. It was a hearty cheap lunch. Do try it if you are around the area during lunch time and wanted to find a quiet place to avoid the lunch crowd.

I am very surprise by how generous they are with their ramen and ingredients. It is indeed a super big bowl that i have difficulty finishing it. There is a lunch special whereby we could top up a dollar to add a side and i choose the gyoza. The set also include a cup of tea which is refillable.
The dinning area is actually quite small but there wasn't alot of people when my colleagues and I went there for lunch at around 2pm on a weekday. Our food was served quite fast too. I would really recommend their ramen! Go have a try!

Hachifukumaru Ramen($13++) - Healthier ramen choice with eight bounties of nature, cabbage, carrots, bean sprouts, ginger, nira, corn, negi and garlic. You can choose between 3 oil - black garlic oil, black negi oil and red chili oil. I got the black garlic oil, it smelled good. The portion of ramen is quite a lot for me, so when I finished it, I was so full.Soup base not that salty which suite me. The char siew is good too.

If you like your ramen salty, this is the place for you. They provide garlic for you to crush to mix into your soup (love this) but really, not much extra seasoning is required. The broth, at first, tasted very good. But as you drink more of it, the saltiness (Msg perhaps?) starts to hit home and I'm left asking for loads of water to wash away the parched feeling. Pork is okay, nothing extraordinary. The decor of the place is nice, but otherwise, I think it's average.

Pork Cha shu Ramen - The soup based was cooked with garlic oil. It was quite thick but not too overwhelming. The noodles were also quite chewy.

Negri Ramen - Same soup base but it was filled with a huge brunch of fresh spring onion which i supposed that was imported from Japanese. The spring onion provides an additional sweet taste to the soup.

Mentai Tamago - Pan fried egg filled with spicy fish roes. It was very creamy and really tasted eggy.

Have been seeing this stall whenever i go to ramen santouka which is just opposite. Then happen to see a time sale on Qoo10 for $8.80 for a ramen+drink+side set and bought 2 vouchers to try it out. When i called for reservation at 730pm for a table for 8pm, i was told its currently packed but 8pm should be fine. Guess its peak crowd is 630-730 with maybe just 1 to 2 table turn over for the entire night. There was japanese menu on the table, kind of funny knowing that probably 90% of the patrons

Guess its peak crowd is 630-730 with maybe just 1 to 2 table turn over for the entire night. There was japanese menu on the table, kind of funny knowing that probably 90% of the patrons can't read Japanese. Anyway back to the food, it turned out the offer includes the $12 basic ramen, $6 side dish and 1 drink. Me and my partner ordered one spicy and 1 non spicy version. The ramen noodle looks thinner than usual, almost like kolo mee. Soup taste wasn't falvourful enough, in fact it taste a little more like Chinese styled soup. The soup was supposedly made using purely chicken based paitan broth with shiodare (salt sauce) base that is creamy with a touch of sweetness. It also comes served with bean sprout, that is definitely uncommon for japanese ramen in SG. Fortunately the ramen was not as oily as was described by other reviewers. I would rate it 6.8/10. It was ok but nothing near to being fantastic or would make me want to return another time. Side dish we ordered a plate of steamed dumpling and a fried gyoza, both were pretty average.
