Being a fan of xiao long bao, how will i resist their xiao long bao? It is a must order dish everytime i visit Ding Tai fung. Other than the xiao long baos, one of the more popular dish is their shrimp and egg fried rice. A simple dish made to perfection by Ding tai fung. I like it that the rice is not so oily.

The xiao long bao is definitely a must try dish whenever I come to din tai fung. The skin is so thin and it’s filled with a lot of soup, and the meat was also very generous too. My next favorite dish will be pork chop fried rice; it is very fragrant and topped with a generous portion of pork chop. It’s better to visit them during non-peak period, if not you can wait up to 30 minutes.

When you come to Din tai fung, the one dish that you must order is definitely the xiao long bao! Pork minced with soup wrapped in a thin layer of skin. It will literally burst in your mouth. At an affordable price of $6.80 for 6 pieces, it's definitely a steal. Ordered the mango pudding for dessert. Priced at only $4.30, it makes a really good dessert after having a hearty meal! Highly recommended!

Famous for their crab meat xiao long bao, yam paste xiao long bao. A place to dine for all meals with family and friends. Personally I love din tai fung food especially their xiao long bao irregardless sweet or salty type. Their fried rice is something that I would "die" for. The food on average is about 12 bucks for main course. A xiao long bao is abt 6.8 for 6 pieces. Their xiao long bao is rich with soup.  Steamed Chilli Crab & Pork Bun ($1.50/pc)
This is my all time favourite in Din Tai Fung. It looks like a bao with thin skin and beautifully made. Inside is filled with juicy crab meat filling.

Crab Meat Xiao Long Bao

There are different Xiao Long Bao containing different types of fillings sold in the restaurant. I have chosen to try out the crab meat xiao long bao instead of other types of xiao long bao is because of I have never try it before and also because of it's uniqueness despite it's the most expensive type of xiao long bao. However, sadly speaking, the favour of the crab meat is lost after steaming the xiao long bao and the whole texture of the meat is so much similar to the chicken xiao long bao.

Went Din Tai Fung for lunch with my friends as we have cravings for chinese food. We ordered a few appetisers to be shared among the 3 of us.Appetiser: Fragrant pork with crushed garlic.It is actually cucumber wrapped in the slice of pork roll. The taste is great.Din tai Fung noodle, with special sauce.Even though it looks plain, it has a sweet taste. I like the special sauce that they mix the noodle with. There is no other sides, just the noodle mix with the special sauce and it taste awesome.s

I will always order their xiao long bao as it is what din tai fung is famous for. The dumpling which is filled with soup and will burst in your mouth which is the best feeling one can ever get.

Having lived in Taiwan for several years, it's quite difficult for me to get satisfied by xiao long baos. The meat can't be too lean, too fatty; the juice too oily; or the skin too thickI was surprised that there standard for xiao long baos are still there. The skin is thin and even and doesn't break apart that easily. I was surprised that there standard for xiao long baos are still there. The skin is thin and even and doesn't break apart that easily.

Small dishes are weighed on a small weighing scales but packed so it looks like they are very generous.

The restaurant may be packed but their service is good with their continuous pouring of tea. The waiters and waitresses are also considerate by giving you a small basket to put your bags and a cloth to cover it.

For the price you pay & the quality that you get, it's quite worth it.
No visit to Din Tai Feng is worth it without an order of xiao long baos.

Visited this branch on a non peak hour of a saturday, Not much crowd and we were seated almost immediately.The waitress and waiters were very alert to our requests and our food came quite promptly. *Thumbs Up*Ordered the Xiao Long Baos, Fried Rice and Yam Xiao Long Bao. All were done up well and tasty. The Xiao Long Baos are all prettily placed in the "long" and all of them packed a mouthful of essence.Good Place, Good Food, Worth the Price!

I ordered a couple of dishes here and I truly enjoyed their fragrant fried rice with egg and pork slices. It is an absolute delight to consume the not so oily fried rice, but yet still retain a nice egg and wok flavour. I also decided to try something different and ordered a rice dumpling siew mai 6 piece ($8.80), which was not very fantastic. It is essentially just glutinous rice stuffed in their speciality skin wrap. It's hard to find fault with this dish, but I think I would have been better

 What irritated me most was the service. While I was glad a waitress consistently refilled our tea, I was most let down by a waiter who promised to check a dish (Yam dumplings) that we waited for quite long. He later came back with a lame excuse that it is a dessert (which it is NOT under the menu) and would be steamed up latest. When it finally arrived after waiting some more, he didn't even apologize for the delay.

Mood: Out of all chains of Din Tai Fung around the world, Singapore has the best outlet I have eaten in so far. (Better than Guangzhou, Hong Kong & surprisingly, better than the original DTF in Taipei!) For those of you DTF maniacs who wishes to go on a pilgrimage to the Taipei shop, don't bother. You are much much better off staying here in Singapore.While quality is theoretically consistent, this Somerset branch has slightly better lemon grass drinks than other branches. I am not an ardent fan of dim sum and such, but since my friends picked out this place as a belated birthday celebration for some of us, I went along. There, social marketing worked its magic and we ended up ordering the much-hyped-about Xiao Long Bao (Steamed Pork Dumplings) and Fried Shrimp Cake, along with a basket of Shrimp Siew Mai and Wanton in Spicy Sauce. Ok, Xiao Long Bao fans are gonna hate me but i must say, I never really understood all that fanfare over those steamed pork dumplings.

I've tried the ones at Crystal Jade and some other places I dont remember (says a lot) and unfortunately, they all taste the same to my undiscerning tastebuds. Or maybe i just haven't eaten enough of them to know the difference. In any case, the Xiao Long Baos here tasted like...just that - Xiao Long Baos. Yummy if you're hungry, but not crave-worthy.

 Xiao Long Bao (Basket of 10)

My favourite of the lot was probably the Fried Shrimp Cake. It was like crispy prawn paste that had been deep fried till golden brown and chock full of crunchy pieces of shrimp. It works, and is good eaten just as it is. Dipping it in any sauce would just taint it. Word of advice: This goes fast, so if you have more than 4pax, you might want to consider ordering double.

 Shrimp Siew Mai

Apologies for the less than appetizing photo below. Chopsticks got to it faster than my lens could. The sauce for this dish was okay, not too spicy if you're not one for spicy food. It does kinda look better than it tastes though. Anyway, by this time, they were all starting to taste the same alr. Which brings me back to the reason why I don't particularly fancy dim sum. They all start to taste the same after a while.

 Wanton in Spicy Sauce

My friend also ordered a Noodle with Minced Pork in Bean Sauce. I didn't try that so i can't comment much, but he seemed to have enjoyed it well enough.

We orders the dou miao with garlic, xiao long bao, dumplings with black vinegar/chilli, la mian with minced pork and black beans. The food was excellent, every dish done really well, so very satisfying. I especially enjoyed the xiao long bao which goes so well with the vinegar/soy and ginger. An excellent place to come for some dim sum, and also to bring tourists/visitors for the experience.

 Promotion dumplings that had Red Bean Paste as the main filling along with a Dark Chocolate in the centre which melted when you bit into it. First time trying this and it was quite delightful!

Has a quick and late dinner with my friend yesterday at Din Tai Fung. Here at this Chinese restaurant, you can see many chefs diligentlly trying all ways in making different types of dim sums. The ambiance is good, sitting beside the window, I can choose to look out or look around at the nice cozy, chinese restaurant.wanton wrapthe wanton skin is crispy and not oily, the minced pork meat inside is tender and flavourful.
