I had always wanted to try this because of so many raving reviews, even though I don't normally eat porridge. AOne Claypot House has a open concept, with its entrance so wide that you can see the corridors of the shopping mall (JP) even though you are just sitting in one corner of the restaurant. It was Monday again, long weekdays to go. Met up with few friends at Jurong Point, we headed to Aone Claypot House for our lunch. Very accessible by MRT, restaurant was easily found. Aone Claypot House opened in Jurong Point earlier this year and I got a chance to try out the food there.I went with a group of 4 (including myself) and we ordered:- Claypot Dried Chilli Chicken Cube ($13.90)- Steamboat Tom Yam Seafood with Sliced Fish ($10.90)- Cai Pu Egg ($8.90)- RiceIn my opinion, this restaurant serves a good place to have zichar when dining with family or friends. It operates much like a zichar stall where they hand you the menu and you tick what you want to eat on the menu

I had finally ordered the 4 Heavenly king! It was never ordered as my dinner mate do not like the taste of lady's fingers. Since we are dinging in a group of 4, I had strongly suggested this order as it's picture was pasted on AOne Claypot House's walls. The 4 heavenly kings comes a little spicy stirred fried in 4 kinds of vegetables with minced meat, namely brinja, lady's fingers, long beans and turnips. This shop is rather new kid on the block in JP. I knew A1 from food courts before. I find items on the menus rather over priced, especially the rice dishes, compared to food court. But of cos I understand they have rental to pay now. Staffs are helpful in getting us a sit in an efficient manner.I ordered the Signature HK porridge. Order came in hotpot, piping hot contents. The porridge is the thick type and comes with quite a generous portion of ingredients (peanuts, cuttlefish, sliced fish etc)

Very packed with people at 8pm, but the staff were really friendly. The chairs and tables were too close to one another, extremely squeezy for me. No place to put my bag. In fact, the chairs are just stools. Quite a messy layout.They got my favourite peanuts, and its' braised. Here is my claypot mushroom chicken rice, which costs $6.90 (with gst and service charges) as they are having lunch promotion. It comes with free wet tissue as indicated on the menu however, they don't provide it unless you asked for it. Well, the clay pot rice was too salty and the rice actually stick to it clay pot (usually it don't) and charred. The chicken was a little too hard to bite on. Well, it is kind of disappointed as it was one of their signature dish there.

After eating the awesome food at the chinatown branch, I couldn't resist queuing for this again at a place nearer to my house! Tried the A1 claypot at Jurong point today! It was awesome! Initially, i was a bit reluctant to order the porridge as I don't find it worth to have at $8.90! But I was so wrong. Decided to head back to try their claypot porridge because my throat was a little sore. I ordered this crab meat and shredded chicken porridge in a claypot which sounded really promising. They use real crab meat which tasted like those frozen kind but I still find it acceptable. At least they did not use the fake type. I love the combination of shredded chicken and porridge together. Seafood Claypot NoodlesThe texture of the noodles is nicely cooked and the gravy is very flavourful however it is too salty so it spoiled the whole dish. If not for its saltiness, I would get it again but after this one try, I don't think I will be eating this again. In my opinion, it is not worth the $9.90 (or $8.90). Kinda pricey but for an air-conditioned eatery, still okay.

Try the double fish steamboat at this shop. The taste was not nice .Fish was not really fresh. And the soup get cold easily and when it was cold the whole soup become very sweet. Nothing special can get almost anywhere in other coffee shop.The claypot chicken porridge at least was much better than the fish steamboat. I had tried this A1 hor fun aftet my medical check up at Jurong Point. I was awesome after a long wait at the medical centre. First, the sauce of the hor fun goes perfectly well with the hor fun, it was thick and slightly salty. I liked it when it was served hot. On top of that, the sliced fish was fresh, thus it tasted sweet and soft. The hor fun was also awesome!If you visited the shop around 1pm- 3pm there will plenty of seats available.
