I only came to know about the existence of the fastfood restaurant from the mouth of colleague. Surprisingly Arnold's has a long history back then.

It was long queue when we reach around 1plus. Never did i expect the queue was so long. We waited for about 15 minutes to get a seat. So, while we are waiting for our seat, we ordered our choice while waiting for the seats.

Finally we got our seats and waiting for our foods to be served.

The foods are served pipping hot! The spring chicken skin is very crispy and the meat is tender and soft as well. The taste is different from KFC and McDonalds. It is also the preferences for Malays. My Malay colleagues are in love with Arnold's. I can see that there have many Malay customers patronizing the outlet when we were there.

The plain bread is slightly oily a bit but it's still taste good when we have it with the coleslaw and mashed potatoes. I personally think the bread is softer than KFC bread though.

The mashed potatoes tasted like Popeye's version and similar to 7-eleven quick bite mashed potato. Coleslaw taste similar to KFC and not much big differences.

Overall the taste is acceptable like any other fastfoods but the size of the chicken is quite small compared to KFC. As for the price wise, it's slightly pricey for me if we order individually. The price range per pax is around S$7 and above for the foods & drinks.

As for the services, no much comment as it is more of self-service restaurant. We ordered at the counter and paid on the spot. The foods are served by the service staff and we requested for more chilli, the response was slow. Perhaps due to lunch hour, there are too many people and the turnover is high. Thus, the attentiveness is not that good though.

Surprisingly, they were seated less than 15 minutes after taking the queue number. There were many people inside waiting for their food too...

Since it's their 1st time at Arnold's, they ordered the spring chicken set. Since many people ordered that too lah. Ok monkey see, monkey do. A bit pricey though, at S$11.90. And added on some potato wedges.

The wedges were fragrant and crispy. A bit heavy though. Too much to finish...

Then the famed spring chicken came. (After all, this is Arnold's FRIED CHICKEN!)

The chicken was crispy on the outside and tender white on the inside. It was swimming in a bit of liquid, and more oozed out as they ripped it apart. Much as they'd like to think it was just "juice" (a.k.a. water) from the chicken, it turned out to be pure oily oil. Somehow, they tried to console themselves - at least two of them sharing the chicken, so it was just "half the calories". After some time, it kinda got a bit gelat.

The portions are quite big and the chicken was fried very nicely. It was finger licking good, and did enjoy getting messy and eating up the chicken.

Having heard so much about Arnold's fried chicken but haven got a chance to try it out yet but today i finally did. Went at a off-peak time of 4.30pm to arnold and the place was like half filled. I ordered their mash potato as i wanted to eat something light, and it tastes great! It costs $3 for it and it was a rather big portion too. The gravy that accompanied it was thick and flavourful. I would definitely be back to try their half spring chicken next time as i saw other people having it and i

When we were outside the "Arnold's Fried Chicken" it was a long queue outside and a full house inside the restaurant. The waiter asks us to place orders and pay the bill when we were assigning a seat. We took our queue number and waiting for about 35 minutes to get in.

we ordered a half chicken set which is $6.50. The chicken was very crispy, soft and tender and has a quite reasonable size. It has a serving of whipped and fries too. The fries are very crispy too. It includes a GST of 7%.

Overall I think that food is worth waiting for.

I don't understand the fuss over Arnold's Fried Chicken. The chicken was satisfying crispy on the outside and tender and moist on the inside, but was lacking in the flavor department. KFC does better fried chicken in my opinion (P.S. they use fresh chicken now), though I'll rather visit Popeye's for my fix. The coleslaw, fries and whipped potato were run-of-the-mill ordinary, and the gravy that came with the latter wasn't as tasty as Colonel Harland Sanders'.

The meat is simply fresh and juicy and the marinate is superb. However, I was a little disappointed with the side dishes. The portions were small and the taste was not fantastic and the meals did not come with a drink so it's a little more pricey that KFC, Popeye's or Texas. Having said that, being a fried chicken lover, that did not deter me from the great Arnold's fried chicken which I had 3 times that week!

I tried the chicken at arnold’s. it was somewhat similar to that of KFC and popeye. Their chicken is quite big piece in size. The skin is very crispy and the chicken is quite fragrant. The meat is tender and juicy despite being deep fried. I like their fries too, it the fat fat kind not like those skinny ones at mcdonalds. The entire set meal very rather satisfying, not too oily, very tasty!

I've heard about Arnold's chicken from my friends but it was not until yesterday that I finally tried it! And its surprisingly good! I was slighlty skeptical about the chicken as there are so many better fried chicken places like popeyes around. But the chicken is fried to the crisp and tender. The scent of the chicken is heavenly and the steam that emits when the piping hot chicken is cut carries the mouth watering scent

Arnold's Fried Chicken is just like any other fried chicken, I personally feel. The chicken is cripsy on the outside and tender on the inside. But the good thing is, normally after I eat fried chicken, I would have a bad throat on the next day. But after eating Arnold's Fried Chicken, my throat was perfectly okay the next day! Well, I guess I found a good place to have some fried chicken while not neglecting my throat

I went to arnold’s for their chicken. I have heard about it for some time already but could not find time to make my way down. I ordered their fried chicken. It was so good, the chicken was so crispy on the outside and inside, it is tender and juicy. unlike kfc, when you peel away the skin, oil does not ooze out. I really enjoy this fried chicken. One of the nicest I have eaten since popeye.

Even with 3 outlets the demand is still HOT HOT HOT. Waiting time is at least 30 minutes!

Some fact about Arnold's:

Why it is called Arnold's then?

The boss felt that he wanted the business name to start with 'A' so that in directory listings it is always on the top. In order for the business to stabilize the most suitable words in Chinese is An Le which mean peace and happiness. So An Le An Le sound like Arnold's.

Arnold's is not own by Malay but Chinese. Many people like you and me will thought that the owner is definitely Malay. Firstly it is Halal. Secondly it is located at Geylang which attracted a lot of Malay family. Lastly, most of the staffs are Malays.

Coleslaw is very fresh, does not taste sour and if you have more bites it will not taste yucky or feel like vomiting like the one at KFC.

2 of us just realise if we order the whole chicken set + the mash potato + 2 regular pepsi it is much cheaper than the combo meal.

So I ordered a Half Spring Chicken Set ($5.50). The set doesn’t include any drinks and it’s what you see served on the plate. A small serving of coleslaw, small serving of French fries and half of a fried spring chicken.

The outside skin looks very nicely fried, crispy and golden brown. I peeled off some of the skin and took a bite of it. There’s some taste of herbs being marinated by the chicken. After tasting the skin, I went deeper into the meat. It’s very juicy and very oily as well. The oil can be seen sizzling and smoke coming out from it. It’s real burning hot in there. However, the meat of the chicken is fried just nice.

Overall, the chicken taste alright but it's as oily as those at KFC. The oil tasted stale which caused my stomach to upset. Try it at your own risk.
