I met an old schoolmate for early lunch at old airport road hawker centre 11.30am today 2.12.2014.my friend wanted to show me the 2 good wanton mee stalls which were just few stalls away from each other. hua kee was closed, so we shared 1 bowl from cho kee. 4 wantons were good, soft, skin held together & tasty. char siew was good, and most importantly noodles was qq & taste was good. We ordered the Wanton Mee ($4) at this Old Airport Road Market. The hawker centre is huge and has a lot of hawker variety here. The main problem is when your friend decides to sit all the way opposite of the stall you're buying from. There are 2 wanton noodles stalls side by side each other and i have been wanting to review them since my office is just located nearby! I took my colleague's recommendation to try cho kee but i must say the stall owner really has a loud voice, not too friendly though Then come the food, i was served 15 minutes later after i ordered, i realize is not because of the long queue is because they are working very slowly, each queue number will take 3 minutes before they served the other customers. There are 2 equally good wanton mee stalls in this food centre.This stall has got a numbering system. You just need to take a number then seated down to wait during their peak period.Their noodle is slightly thinner and more springy in texture with a distinctive eggy taste. It serves with 6 pieces of wantons for the same $4 but the size of these wantons was slightly smaller as compared to the other stall but equally tasty. This is another wanton mee stalls in this food centre. Some people prefer this stall but some prefer the others. They use egg noodle and cooked it well to the right texture to give it the springiness. The char siew has got an old school feel with nice texture. The wantons were wrapped in a thin layer of skin and it ended up broken up. The filling was tasty though. The spiciness of their chilli tasted quite mild.

Being a fan of wanton noodles, I decided to try Cho Kee Noodle located at Old Airport Road Food Centre as I heard many good reviews about it. There was a queue when I purchased my food. I ordered the wanton noodles at $4. The portion was generous and the sauce tasted great when mixed with the char siew, noodles and wonton. The noodles were tangy and tasted great when eaten.

Noodles were somewhat overcooked despite the fast service. Friendly auntie who served and cooked the dish. The ingredients were fresh, especially the vegetable; very crunchy. The wanton was not small but the taste was so so. Chilli does not taste that nice to me and it was not that spicy.

We saw that it was recommended by yummy king so we deccided to try this & there was quite some queue when we went,It was pretty tasty, the wontons were really good ,meaty & smooth, but the soup was tasteless,I don't think it worth the queueOverall i rate 6/10

First time eating @ Cho Kee Noodle. The waiting time was pretty alright. Although I ask for no chilli, but they still put in it. The noodle was very "Q". The noodle was not dry and has some sauce with it. Some places have their noodles cooked dry. The cha sau or the wan tan was pretty normal. In general, the noodle is the soul of the dish and am quite satisfied with it.

This wanton stall is really cool, as they have a sign displaying your queue number . In fact, I think this is really useful as it can give you a rough gauge of the waiting time. The 2 famous wanton stalls are just side by side to each other and yet you can see that each stall has their own supporter. Personally, I like this stall as compare to the other as the wanton taste nicer. The noodle was springy and not soggy , so this is one of my favourite wanton stall.

A recommended stall from my friend, it was said that the queue for this during peak hours can be rather long. The stall works on an electronic queue system that notifies you that your noodles are ready for collection.A little impressive but I cannot say so for the food. This is supposedly one of the highly recommendable wanton mee stalls in Singapore but my first experience was a disappointing one.Undeniably, the noodle is a little nicer with that prominent eggy taste. But look at my picture, one of the wantons had a broken skin, and i think, if the owner took pride in serving this bowl of wanton noodle would have choose to discard it rather than served it to the customer.
