Every night at 8:30pm onwards, Crystal Jade will have a special promotion where all customers are entitled to 20% off its buns and cakes (if I am not mistaken, since I always get the breads). As it is approaching 8:30, I decided to buy supper home from Crystal Jade. The queue is already forming and I just took the chocotwist bun which costs $1.70. After discount, it is around $1.40. Besides the almond flakes on top of the bread, the bread is just normal white bread braided with chocolate bread.

I would prefer to buy two mini choco versions of it at Provence or Four Leaves instead.

Value: Slightly overpriced.

Food: Had about 6 dishes. Nothing memorable. Except for the Peking Duck! That was great! The best out of any Peking Duck we've tried, and better than Imperial Treasure! Will only go there for duck from now on!

The wonton noodles were pretty good. Some dishes are overly oily and overly salty. The fried rice was ok but too salty.

actually i seriously dont understand why so many people like to eat at crystal jade, i agree some of the dishes are not too bad but majority of them are just average. but i guess that is because there are not many chinese restaurants in sg that are of reputable standard. and somehow i dont really like their staff attitute at this outlet, they are quite impatient and like rushing you to orders which i find it quite rude

It's my first time eating a char siew bao of this size and actually was more than happy cos I do like their fillings that have more lean char siew and sweet base sauce but then when I took my first bite, I realized the dough was too thick and the fillings were not much. A little disappointed but thankfully the dough was soft and fluffy kind. They do have 2 sizes available which is the normal one at $1.00 and the large size at $1.20.

Went there for dinner with friends. We had ordered shredded chicken noodle, Deep Fried Dumpling With Salad Sauce, Yang Zhou Fried Rice. The noodle is very Q and I enjoy chewing it and slowly enjoying the Q noodle. The sauce they put on the noodle is not too oily so I don't feel so sinful when I have them. The fried dumpling was very nicely done, fresh and the salad sauce complemented it well. The fried rice was not done quite well with certain parts being overly dry while others undercooked. The

The generous serving of shrimp is a good.
As for service, it varies. Sometimes they were very helpful and good, but at times, especially when the place is packed, their service standard drops.
The food is average but it quite pricey.

I always orderd the luncheon meat and egg mayo at the IMM branch. And I was looking for it at the Takashimaya branch. They have the same name but the way they made it was different from the one I took in IMM. The luncheon meat and egg are baked together with the bread, which made it really dried. I still prefered the IMM 's version which they slot the lucnheon and egg omelette into the bun ( similar to burger). Thankfully the milk bread was still the same which I ate at other branch.

There can be quite a lot of customers around the shop during weekends. I bought a vegetable bun to try. It tasted rather average but it looked quite fresh on first glance. The vegetable fillings were ordinary, filled with potatoes, peas, corns and carrots. Was quite chewy to bite on but the bread was quite sticky. The staffs were polite and quick in packing our buns into the plastic bags.

However, it's only good to look at. The taste is usually bland and unauthentic. BreadTalk and even St Leaven is much better. It's usually a bit oily as well. However, their trays are always clean and dry and not oily! Their prices are more expensive than St Leaven as well. And they have less variety. their breads are not as soft as Bread Talk's but it's close enough.

The staff are always rather rude, hurried and impolite. Do not like dealing with the staff at all.

The foods are a bit different to Bread Talk or other bread stores. They have a few traditional snacks as well. But nothing tastes particularly good at all. In fact we were shocked that it doesn't taste good at all! No flavour, rather oily and not as soft or well-made as Bread Talk.

Not really recommended due to poor service and low quality. good for convenience or if your tastebuds don't believe your eyes. Good to look at but not good to taste.
