One of the best fried carrot cake (white) can be found at the Ang Mo Kio Central Market & Food Centre. The carrot cake itself is soft and is well covered with egg – this combination is perfect as it is crispy around the edges with a nice fragrant eggy flavour! The picture below is of the $4 serving size and comes with sambal chilli which goes well with the carrot cake.

Tried this amazing fried carrot cake at the Food Expo! This is, definitely, by far the best fried carrot cake I've tasted so far. They are very innovative too, they have about 10 different fried carrot cake flavours (flavoured using seasoning powder). My friend and I got the Nori Seaweed Flavoured Fried Carrot Cake. First bite into it, I was blown away by the fragrance. The egg in it enhanced the flavour, bringing the carrot cake to the next level (really, it's very delicious!). On the downside

Those residing in Ang Mo Kio are probably very familiar with this popular carrot cake stall at the hawker centre in Ang Mo Kio Central that only sells the white crispy version. What I like about their carrot cake is that every slab is generously enveloped in eggs. The exterior is pan-fried to perfection while the interior remains soft and moist. This stall makes and steams its own carrot cake instead of using factory-made ones. A hefty amount of chye poh (preserved radish) is also used so every bite boasts of a nice eggy flavour with a lovely crunch from the salty radish bits. The home-made special chilli paste has the right amount of spice and goes really well with the carrot cake. I just like breaking the slabs into smaller bits and mix them up with the chilli and spring onions. Best of all, this is not overly greasy as compared to others. Vegetable oil is used here which is a healthier alternative. This carrot cake is definitely worth trying!

My first bite and I could bite and taste the chai po. Crunchy, salty and just so yummy with the egg and carrot cake. The carrot cake wasn't oily and the salt level is just nice. Couldn't really taste much of the seaweed but who cares when the carrot cake is so delicious!

I ordered a plate of crispy carrot cake at $3. The portion is quite generous and the carrot cake & eggs smell very nice and looks nice too! This stall serves carrot cake in generous portion of eggs and main focus is the crispy on the outside & soft on the inside. The owner even set up stall during the Singapore Expo Food festival but the price is much more expensive. I rather buy & eat at hawker center. I prefer to eat without the chilli as I can taste the original version of carrot cake ! Overall, is a must try for all crispy carrot cake lovers!

Before I head to AMK I read from Openrice review about this stall and when I reached there I kiasu and join the queue without looking for a seat! My dear hubby still thought I am packing it back haha. Queue really very long but Auntie's fast hand and legs cleared the queue very fast! I ordered a plate to share ... the aroma of the eggs smell so good and I am very surprise to see only Auntie mending the stall alone! Not too salty, carrot cake also soft and is goes well with the spring onions!

Chai Tow Kway (white) is probably one of the very few hawker food that I enjoy. There's just something about that fried egg, radish cake and cai poh combination that makes it so good! I got to try this chai tow kway at Singapore Food Festival and what's unique about it is that they even have strips of carrot in it - I think I've never ever seen that before in my chai tow kway. People call it "carrot" cake, but it's usually just radish cake without any actual carrots in it. This version had a few

People call it "carrot" cake, but it's usually just radish cake without any actual carrots in it. This version had a few strips of carrot inside which gives it quite a refreshing taste. Some would find this chai tow kway a bit bland, but I like it that way - not too oily, not too salty. I even had it twice at SFF!

Today ordered a plate of fried white carrot cake for $3. There is $2 and $4 versions also. Today's version is fried by an aunty. I remember it used to be an uncle. The carrot cake is still very crispy and tastes different from the usual carrot cake. But I still like the version the uncle made it as it is a more solid version. This one seems more softer. The chilli pasta is still as powerful as last time.

The reason that makes me travel to Ang mo Kio for food is because I read from a food blog on the top 5 food in Ang mo kio. Of course, one of them is Lim Hai Sheng Cooked Food. Well, the carrot cake was pre-cooked before I ordered, thus shortened the serving time as the boss only “re-fried” again to make it warm. But as a Food student, I learnt about “bacteria” all this, any cooked food that store at 5oC to 65oC is pretty dangerous. So I kind of regret after ordering. But the overall taste was n

This is another very popular stall in this food centre. There is always a queue. The minimum serving is $2 to $4. The serving of $2 is really little. I usually order at least $3. The carrot cake tasted soft. It was cut into small pieces and fried with a generous amount of egg and preserved radish. It was pan fried well to give it the crispy texture. It tasted better if eaten there.

This is a famous fried carrot cake in this food centre. The fried carrot cake tasted quite good but a little pricey. You can order them at $ 2 / $3 / $4. The portion is quite little. It is best to eat there but it is still tasted good even for taking away. I love the fragrant of preserved radish and egg. The texture of carrot cake was soft and moist. Chopped spring onions were added to enhance its flavor. I felt their chilli did not play a part in enhancing its overall taste so with or without

Somehow love the carrot cake from this stall. They do offer you different servings, ranging from $2 to $4. This plate only costs me $3, cheap yet large portions served. Their carrot cake actually smells nice, well, tastes nice too. The carrot cake is nicely fried, and the outside kinda crispy to me, yummy! Well, their chillies are spicy too, but actually tasted weird when combined with the carrot cakes.
