Over here, the service staff are rather friendly and helpful as well. As we were walking past the bar counter seats, we passed by these rows of gourmet coffee and extremely koala bears on sale. Anyway we had initially wanted to try the kangaroo and curry crocodile dishes, which I'd seen in the menu before, only to realize that they have just changed the menu.

Well, we still got to try my kangaroo. This is the Kangaroo Loin Steak (SGD$40.00), served with zucchini, green beans and carrots with a side of mashed potato. The meat is not very tender, and tastes to me like a cross between veal and pork. It had the same sweet overture and chewy-ness, and the red wine sauce we chose sweetened the dish up further, sealing in the red meat's natural delicious flavor.

In lieu of crocodile meat, we took up the manager's recommendation of Braised Short Ribs in Stout Sauce (SGD$32.00) - served with vegetables and mashed potatoes on the side as well. The first thing that hit me when I tasted this dish was the tenderness of the meat. Never a fan of ribs under most circumstances, the meltingly soft texture of this simply blew me away. Then the strong, bittersweet flavor of black beer registered, adding a touch of goodness to the luscious meat.

The tenderloin is $42 which is rather expensive but the steak was soooo thick and juicy. I had it cooked medium and the centre was more raw. The steak came with broccoli and beans which tasted average. The corn on the cob was lightly grilled and was sweet and juicy. Highlight of this dish has got to be the delicious steak which was well-seasoned and tender.

On top of unsatisfactory drinks, many dessert items on the menu were unavailable as well. We ended up just drinking lousy coffee! No more next time

One of my friend even ask the staff to get the barista to draw all different art for us ~! hahaha...

We were really happy to see the cute animals on our coffee!!

Quick lunch at Robert Timms as I love the cosy, cool environment (but the one at Wheelock place is better). They serve Australian fare with unique items like Kangaroo meat but I'm not so adventurous hence I order the Prawn Aglio Olio. It's quite spicy as they add in loads of chopped chili padi and toss with some prawns and asparagus. Quite an average dish but they were very generous with their prawns! I was planning to get something different and so i looked around what other diners were having.. glance around to my right.. Holy crap.. The lamb looked huge.. and the Fish & Chip to my right looks like it can serves up for 2.. oy ve! My stomach isnt that huge...

And so.. i thought i settled for something healthier.. smaller.. and lighter.. So i thought why not try the turkey bacon wrap with eggs and cheese. And i thought wrong..

It wasn't as flavorful as i would expect it to be and it was really bland. It was crunchy due to the warm wrap and lettuce and the taste of the egg and cheese is just.. bleugh..

Well i wont say i wont be back.. Probably will try their giant Ribeye Steak and Pavlova on my next visit.. Probably need to starve myself 2 days before hand first.

Oh yeah.. for those DBS cardholder, if you spend more than $30 in a receipt, you'll get 15% discount! Cheers!

We were looking for a place for dinner, and came to House of Robert Timms. It's quite a nice place to chill out with friends. They have quite a good menu on food, drinks, and even wine. I like that they serve their sandwiches on whole grain bread. The sandwich that I ordered was quite massive (haha), which is really not like what is shown on the menu. I guess for the house sandwich, 2 persons can share. Love the fries

My problem with macarons is that they are always so small that its simply not satisfying to stop at one. Though XL-sized macarons are not novelties (they can be found at Au Chocolat), the version at Robert Tims boasts premium alcohol flavors ($7 each) such as this Barcardi Gold & Kahlua. The outermost shell was chalky and dry, but because its so huge, there is substantial amount of chewy fudgy interior.

Finally, I have found a cupcake that has more than enough cream to last me through the cake. Their Butterscotch & Caramel cupcake is brilliant as the butterscotch topping is not the typical buttercream but more like a ganache-hybrid drizzled with ooey-gooey caramel. It is rich, velvety with intense hints of cappuccino. A good combination with the cake that is studded with apple skins.

The Kirsch Mousse $7.50 deconstructs the classic Black Forest cake by eliminating the white whipped cream and dark chocolate shavings/mousse. I like the proportion of mousse to chocolate sponge but the kirsch liquor could be stronger to match up with the vanilla beans.

Sadly, their previous amazing items like the toffee crunch pie have now gone into history. There are still many other new items like the dark chocolate walnut tart and the chocolate nemesis torte that I have yet to try but if they revamped their sweets menu, why would I say no?

Had lunch with classmates at the house of Robert Timms after finish doing our project.I went for the normal tomato base spaghetti as i was craving for something tasted sour and spicy. The spaghetti tasted just normal. The sweetness and sourness of the sauce was just nice. But i prefer more spiciness for this dish. The service and the environment of the restaurant was nice. Recommended this shop.

I was on a mission to find a not-so-ex but quality place to have a small celebration of our 21 mth =) anniversary and was going for a haircut in 313 so i stumbled upon this place while browsing openrice..

Saw some fellow reviews on kangaroo meat and crocodile so i thought it was interesting. What interest me more was the 1-for-1!! woohoo... It was crowded but every table's plates seemed to be having big servings of food so i was quite assured.. and they looked some yummy!(except for the fried platter)

We decided on the kangaroo in stout and although there were hundreds of other stuff on the menu i wanted to try(all day breakfasts!!) but they were not in the 1-for 1.. So i chose the snapper which was closest to the price of the kangaroo.. we also order the warm spinach salad with some good portions of bacons and sauteed mushrooms.

My snapper (as u can see in the picture) was swimming in the lemon butter gravy.. the 2 small fillet came up to be about the size of my palm so i was still abit hungry.. it was however very fresh and healthy with carrots potatoes and zucchini.

I am not a fan of red meat, even worse, game-y meat but i must say the kangaroo was quite good! it was according to the angmokia like beef bourguignon but with kangaroo. The meat is so tender and abit like the texture of pulled pork.. I suspect i might be able to eat a dish of this on my own. The puff pastry that came with it was buttery too... I think we would very much like to have a baguette(as usual!) to mop up the gravy/sauce.

As i was still a little hungry after my puny snapper we order a chocolate cake to share. It was a good deicion because it was super richhhhhh... was not coyingly sweet too.. and we left satisfied. =D

will come back for the breakfasts and wraps which are around the range of $12-!15.

I am a person who does not really love to eat carbonara pasta as the cheese will make very sick of it after eating a mouthful of it. However, the one at the Robertson times is different! I ordered the Bacon and Mushroom Egg drop Fettuccine which consists of bacon and mushroom egg-drop fettuccine served with crispy parma ham and parmesan cheese. The dish is marvelous. I love their cheese and their pasta.

We had brunch at The House of Robert Timms. They serve all day breakfast menu where I ordered the bread with scramble egg set. It costs around $15 for the breakfast, quite a reasonable price for brunch with a nice ambience. The portion was quite huge. The eggs were soft and well boiled and the bread was crispy, served with tomatoes and lettuces.

Maybe I will give Robert Timms another chance by trying out its main courses next time instead of the "breakfast" items. ;)
