My girlfriend was craving for some nice zi char so we drove two chefs. They have really nice drunkard cockles and butter ribs. The sauce is very tasty as well. we also ordered their sambal kang kong, the kang kong was cooked perfectly, it was very crunchy and the sambal had the right level of hotness. We were both really filled after the hearty meal.

I came here for dinner at my brother's recommendation earlier in January this year and we waited for 20minutes before we are finally seated. We ordered their butter pork ribs which is their signature, as well as the other more normal stuff like the kailan, hotplate tofu and chicken. The butter ribs are really quite delicious with the special "powder", which had a mild cheesy and milk taste to them. I quite liked the taste of this, plus the fact that the pork was quite tender. Finally made the journey west to Two Chefs Eating Place, after reading about it a sometime back in the Straits Times. Housed in a small coffeeshop in a rather remote part of Commonwealth, the place is rather small and tables are limited. Apparently the crowd starts coming in at about 6pm so get there before 6 or be prepared to wait.

Radish Soup - We started off with the radish soup, which wasn't on the menu. Light and mildly sweet, noticeably from the use of monosodium glutamate (MSG). Nice but excessive drinking is certainly not encouraged.

Butter Ribs - The butter ribs were a misnomer really. Ribs should come with bones, shouldn't they But I'm definitely not complaining. The meat was tender without being fibrous or soft. What was interesting was the fact that the meat was coated with a concoction of cheese flakes, a dash of sugar and a sprinkling of curry leaves - Nice and sweet with a mild hint of spiciness, belying a smooth cheesy sensation with that tinge of curry aftertaste.

Stir Fried Broccoli with Garlic - This was your regular stir fried broccoli fried with tons of chopped garlic. Decent but a wee bit too soft and overcooked for my liking.

Beancurd with Golden Mushroom - I didn't think too highly of this dish though the tofu was smooth but rather bland and lacked silkiness. The sauce had lots of golden mushroom and minced meat but was weirdly sweet instead of savoury.

Hor Fun - The lowlight (as opposed to highlight. Ha Ha Ha. Corny I know) of the entire meal, the hor fun appeared rather slip shod. They were all clumped together and lacked any discernible wok hei taste. The pork and shrimp didn't taste fresh either. On a healthier note, there were lots of vegetables though.

At 50 cents shy of $34 for 3 pax, I wouldn't say it was expensive. However, only the butter ribs were good while the other dishes hovered around the average mark or faded into obscurity. Throw in the queues and I doubt I'll return, especially since the place is halfway across the island for me. But if I do, it will only be for the butter ribs.

Was there the past weekend and man! What a full house, halfway through my meal, there were so many people waiting around for tables, it felt some what uncomfortable having so many eyes looking at you, pressuring you to finish your food. Back to the food, overall, a pretty decent place to eat, the Sweet Potato Leaves is one of the better ones that I have tasted, crunchy, fresh and well stir fried.

I tried their butter pork ribs -I’ve never had butter pork before. I liked it, but I would’ve preferred the butter coating to be richer & more liquid, rather than a dry crumbly texture. It was also a bit sweeter than I would’ve liked. We also ordered stir fried gai lan, tofu with enoki... & it cost about $35++ which i find is quite cheap & also Service is also very efficient ,food nice Overall i rate 8/10

Okey, Actually I know this restaurant from one of taxi driver when I went to tanjung katong for lunch. The driver wonder and asked me why I should take my lunch in Tanjung Katong? Then I told him: " I purchase food voucher from one of deal website that's reason I went to Tanjung Katong for my lunch. Anyway, The driver told me that there is one famous restaurant nearby my place and he asked me to try it.

I was searching where the restaurant locates at and I went there for twice. First time visit, I and my boy friend tried Butter Rib, Omellete, and Beancurd Mushroom Sauce. We spent SGD 22 for 2 pax and 3 dishes (excluded the drink). The price for food and beverage:
1. Pork Ribs SGD 8.00
2. Omellete SGD 5.00
3. Beancurd Mushroom Sauce SGD 8.00

For my second visit with my besties. We ordered sambal kangkung (SGD 6), fragrance chicken (SGD 8), sweet and sour fish (SGD 8), fried hongkong noodle(SGD 4), and black paper chicken (SGD 8).

I and my boy friend love to eat their butter rib and most of their food are delicious with reasonable price. We dont mind to go there for many times. We wanted to try their fish head curry for next visit

I went to this zi char place under the recommendation of my friend. It is considered as quite ulu and hard to find if one is not staying in that area. I love the butter pork ribs, though i could not identify what is the powder. Some told me its milk while others told me it taste like cheese. It reminds me more of the cereal prawns though. It's a unique dish of their and i had never taste the same elsewhere before.

They also offers other more common dishes like sweet potato leaves with sambal. I tried the enoki mushroom pot too, and i love the gravy. Very flavorful and smooth, not too starchy.

The food are considered cheap. I have never exceed 15 per pax before. Though it really depends on how many people are there to spilt the cost, but it is definitely affordable.

Food served are simply awesome! Their service is very fast as well. We ordered around 5 dishes and it came in less than 15mins. The milk powder pork is a MUST TRY. I have not tasted anything close to that in other eating places before. It is neither too hard, nor too soft. Just enough to give the chewy feeling! The '3 egg vegetable' shown in the picture is also one of their speciality. The price is relatively reasonable considering that the portion served is quite big. We paid $39.90 for the dis

the butter pork ribs are their famous dish. you can see almost every table with that dish. it is simply heavenly as the butter taste is quite unique and the pork ribs are not tough at all !!

but i would not recommend to order hor fun because the portion is really quite small. we barely ate much of that.

the sambal kang kong was not bad in fact i love the sambal.

if you were to come to two chef, do remember to come early!! if not the waiting time can be quite long.
