Hot plate scallop is one of my favourite starter from Watami. I will never fail to not order this every time i set foot in this place. The portion however is a little small for me. 7 small pieces of hotate with a few strands of mushrooms and a quarter slice of lemon in the middle. Squeeze a little lemon to taste and scoop one of the scallop up to taste. Some of the sides are a little tough but all in all, it was delicious!

I always been craving for pork belly meat and the one in their hot pot really suit my taste and at the same time it is not as sinful as those which are deep fry or barberqued. In this hot pot, smooth tau foo, shiitake mushrooms, sliced carrots, Japanese round mushrooms and decent amount of pork belly meats are found in it. With so many healthy ingredients n it, the soup base is really sweet and yet not that oily and salty. It is best eat with a bowl of their fragrant Japanese glutinous rice.

We had dinner at Watami at The Central where I ordered the Japanese omelets. It was served in a pan with the Japanese dressing and chicken flakes. The combination of ham and vegetables in it tasted great with the egg. It costs around $10 for the dish which I felt was worth the money.

I ordered their Watami Ramen without egg because I wasn't too hungry. Service was acceptable. It wasn't fast but they didnt make us wait too long. First taste of the soup and I was impressed! It was flavourful without being too salty! The noodles were not too soft. The other ingredients, except for the char siew, were also generous.

Since it was after work, the place was too crowded. We had to wait a while to get a table. Also, the tables are too near each other. If you're looking for a restaurant where you can have a chat with someone, this is not the place to be! When the waiter saw that we were done, he approached us and asked if he could clear the table. In short, he wanted us to leave so other diners can use the table.

I ordered the pork lunch set which comes along with salad, miso soup and drink. Salad was served earlier as the appetizer and it tasted pretty good as I'm a salad lover. The rest were served soon after the salad and we realized that we had to cook the lunch ourselves. They provided us with egg and they helped us to switch on the stove. So my friend and I tried to cook that ourselves and it was really a great experience!

Went here for my BFF's birthday dinner, and since we had such a big group, we ordered 2 sukiyaki sets, which consisted of many dishes, which had char-grilled meats on sticks, fried potato sticks, tori karaage, and of course, the big pot of sukiyaki, which had beef in it, golden mushroom, veggies, tofu. I liked the potato sticks, it was very yummy, and they even had their homemade sauce to go with it. The tori karaage was crispy, and not chunky, which was not bad. The highlight was the sukiyaki,

The highlight was the sukiyaki, as everyone liked the beef, and the soup base. I also had a fizzy grape soda, which used grapes from Japan, and I liked it very very much, as it had a sweet grape taste that was strong, and did not taste like those cheap soda drinks you order elsewhere.
Great place to have gatherings with friends.

The watami salad was one of my favourite dishes, the vegetabes were fresh and crunchy and the salad sauce was really tasty. The pork rice in stone pot was fragrant and the pork and rice were flavourful. The sukiyaki was average, the beef pieces were a bit too thinly sliced, and hence lack the bite and chewy feel. Other good dishes were the pork and cabbage wrapped in egg omelette and fried oysters.

I ordered their Chicken Terriyaki Don which comes with miso soup and prickles. This time round i think it really tastes very nice with the mayonise~ The chicken terriyaki sauce is just nice for me, not too salty and with the generous serving of mayonise, oh gosh, it really opens up ones' appetite! And to meet customers' diverse needs, i realise, this time, their Don portion can chose Mini or Regular for the rice. Cool, mine is the Mini one, I assured it's full enough for a young lady! I can still remember afew years back, their chicken terriyaki was w/o the mayonise and the chicken seems overcooked and hard, now it's tender! And i'm craving for it alrdy! It cost $9.80++

Another of my friend ordered scallop hot pot. It does not come with rice, u can add it for $2. Or $3.80 with Miso Soup. It cost around $13++. For their hot pot, u can chose the soup based according to your preference, my friend chose the spicy one for the scallop, and perhaps scallop is expensive, she did mention that there were only quite little scallop given.

My another friend also ordered hot pot, but the chicken one and with miso soup! The portion of chicken given is quite alot. I tried it and felt that it tastes alright! Still prefer my Teriyaki chicken don although it's abit pricey! This chicken hot pot cost $9.80++

I guess i would most probably foresee myself come back for their Terriyaki chicken don in future~

Before we decided to have dinner at Watami, we called up a few places for buffet dinner, they were all full-house, so we have to change our dinning place to Watami. I like this place because their variety of choices and reasonable prices.

We reached there around 6+pm, it was still early for dinner. Right from entering the place, all service staff would greet us in Japanese “Welcome”. I bought this meal for our office’s cleaning auntie, she is so good to me and chat with me whenever we have time. With her age, she can’t eat raw fish or big meal, so she just chose a bowl of Nagasaki ramen. I chose Konbu Dashi Nabe, a shabu shabu dish, it contains fatty pork, chicken, scallop and clam are the main ingredients. I added Teppen Bou Gyoza, it has mince pork and shrimp+black fungus, quite a big gyoza with generous filling.

Auntie likes her ramen so much as ingredients are generous with shrimp, pork and veggie, bone soup based is thick and rich, she says it isn’t thirsty after the meal.

I like my shabu shabu too, meats are raw when serve and cook in front of diner with a mini steamboat stove, service staff would refill soup if it has less. Ingredients are fresh. Soup is a bit too salty to my taste.

Gyoza is fried with a lace floured, it is crispy at the side and soft inside. Best eating it when hot, once it is cooled down, the oil taste is too strong and dough skin becomes tough. I soak it in the shabu shabu broth, it helps to soften the skin and better in texture.

When we finished our meal, the restaurant was filled with full of diners. It is a popular place though.

To satisfy my dessert cravings, we settled for Watami and ordered my favourite green tea ice cream. It costs $3.80 ++ for the green tea ice cream with mochi and red bean. The taste of it was good as the ice cream was not sweet. The restaurant had a cosy environment and a great place for chilling out.

The drink arrived shortly after I placed my order and it was a mix of fizzy + non-fizzy. The citrus fruit skin(flavour) is at the bottom of the glass and you have to stir it to distribute the flavour. The fruity flavour combines well with the fizzy soda, making this a very delightful drink. I especially liked eating up the remaining flavoured skin at the bottom of the glass after I finished my drink.
