Tom yum noodles OK Jul 16, 2012
Categories : Shanghainese | Food Court

I have tried this tom yum noodles quite a few times, and I reckon their standard is a bit fluctuate. One day the soup is very rich but on another day, the soup might not be flavourful enough. Perhaps the amount of tom yum paste they used is different? Anyway, it is still my favourite food especially on a rainy day. It is quite well-balanced dish in which you get noodles, vegetables, minced meat and an egg in the bowl.

Hokkien noodles and Hor Fun OK Jul 16, 2012

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Chinese | Coffeeshop | Porridge/Congee

I saw a food review on this old style cafe by a well-known blogger, hence decided to try their signature KL-style Hokkien noodles. Unlike the Singapore style, this KL style Hokkien noodles is stir-fried in dark sauce, the thick noodles has a good texture to chew on. However, this one tastes so-so only, and I'm sure I have tried a better one else-where.

The 'moon-light' hor fun is quite nice though. The flat rice-noodles is flavourful and the raw egg on top adds on an extra bit of moist to the dish.

Wanton noodles Smile Jul 13, 2012

Categories : Hawker Centre

There are two wanton mee stalls right next to each other, Shi De Fu is one of it.

The wanton noodles they serve is very local, with dark sauce and quite big in portion. I did not order the wanton, but tried out their dumplings. The dumpling is stuffed with lots of ingredients including minced meat, dried black fungus, very well-seasoned and very strong in dried squid flavour. Yummy!

Yummy bee hoon Smile Jul 13, 2012

Categories : Hawker Centre

This tiny little stall gives me a good surprise. I ordered the 'xing hua' bee hoon, and it tastes really good! I did not expect the bee hoon to be so thin, yet maintained such a great texture even after stir-fried. The cook must be very skillful. The dish contains lots of ingredients too, including cabbages, BBQ pork slices, dried bean curd etc. Very delicious and I would definitely go back again to try out their other dishes!

Generous portion Smile Jul 13, 2012   (Related Review)

This is one of my most favourite stall in the hawker center. The mixed rice is cheap and the uncle always gives generous amount of the dishes. This time round I tried their deep-fried fish fillets. Fragrantly crispy outside, and the fish meat tastes well-seasoned inside. For less than $3, you get to choose two vegetables dishes and one meat dish. It's such a bargain, and so far, most of the dishes I tried are delicious.
