Medz used to be very popular when it was first established in Singapore. Its concept is something like Marche, where there are different stalls within the compound, and they use a rounded light signal (like ramen champion), to indicate when your food is ready, eliminating the need to stand there and queue. I got the chicken, and side of mushrooms. Chicken was average but quite tender. Loved the juicy mushrooms.

Medz often holds promotions so check back often. Anyway, we went to Medz for some paella. It's wasn't too bad but the ingredients were really miserly. There was like far more rice than the ham (we ordered ham paella). There was a queue in front of the desserts section so we followed the queue. People were buying something known as the rainbow cake. It looks nice but tasted totally like a vanilla cake. Not worth it.

 The grilled fishes were very lovely, fresh and succulent. The crab was a tad salty thou, but is very tender, delectable and appetizing. Enjoy freshness from the sea with very basic seasoning added.

 Carnivorous cravings must not miss this platter of pan-fried duck confit, crispy pork belly, AUS Wagyu beef rump, roasted pork ribs. The pork ribs are fork tender, pork belly was bake, roll and grill, duck confit was tender with crispy skin, the beef was a tad salty, dinner can request the done-ness they prefer.

 The dessert platter consists of red velvet cake, chocolate brownie, churros with chocolate sauce, lychee rose panna cotta and earl grey creme brulee. The sweetest treat ever served in a platter! The earl grey creme brulee and lychee rose panna cotta was utterly delicious, it's my favourite!!

Went to medz just for dessert, and for a drink. Their beers have the one for one promotion, and ciders here cost 24 dollars for these 2 bottles. Toffee apple cider is sweet! And have the toffee after taste. The mosit rainbow cake has layer of cream cheese in between, and it reminds me of red velvet cake, just a much more prettier colorful version of it. Chocolate lava cake! It comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, of which I ignored and almost forgot about as I was busy attacking the chocolat

Went to medz just for dessert, and for a drink.

Their beers have the one for one promotion, and ciders here cost 24 dollars for these 2 bottles. Toffee apple cider is sweet! And have the toffee after taste.

The mosit rainbow cake has layer of cream cheese in between, and it reminds me of red velvet cake, just a much more prettier colorful version of it.

Chocolate lava cake! It comes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, of which I ignored and almost forgot about as I was busy attacking the chocolate cake. The lave cake is heavenly. But it is so melted that basically only the top layer is left cake like, and the remaining are all molten chocolate. Nothing solid to bite into.

There is apprently promotions during the tea time, 50% off for students! One of the benefits of being one

Hot Plate Chicken

I have been to Marche before and Medz has a similar concept whereby they will give you a card upon entry, thus all you simply have to do when you are inside is to pass the card to the staff upon ordering. It is very convenient as you will only need to pay the bill indicated in the card upon exiting the restaurant. I like this concept as I personally do not fancy having too much loose change in my wallet. The food I order is hot plate chicken but it does not taste very nice though.

Do visit http://rachelays.blogspot.sg/ for more Strawberry and cookies & cream ice-cream drizzled with hot chocolate sauce or fudge, resting seductively on a plate of delicious warm and freshly baked waffle with mango cubes topping! This is so yummy and addictive! I am sold.Duck confit. This dish is not bad but gravy is a little salty and since the gravy is all over the dish, it spoilt the whole dish. It would be much better if gravy ain't that salty!

 Duck confit.
This dish is not bad but gravy is a little salty and since the gravy is all over the dish, it spoilt the whole dish. It would be much better if gravy ain't that salty!

I should say the level of service is there. Being new to how medz works, the helpful staff is very patient and explain the dishes and concept in medz. They are well trained and they know their stuff well.

Ambience
Atmosphere there is better than Marche, not that cramp and not that noisy.

If available, do try the kakavia fish stew!

Overall, if you want to try out something Mediterranean this will be the place.

Medz located at basement of Orchard Central serves Mediterranean foods at one stop. The nearest mrt is Somerset Station. It is a walking distance from the station to Orchard Central mall. It is recommended by one of my friend. Thus, a group of us decided to have our dinner here on labor day this year. The concept of Medz is similar to Marche & Shokudo. Although the location is at the basement of the shopping mall, there are people flocking in during dinner hours. Foods that we ordered that day

The concept of Medz is similar to Marche & Shokudo. Although the location is at the basement of the shopping mall, there are people flocking in during dinner hours.

Foods that we ordered that day:-

Grilled Salmon ordered by friend. The crispy skin nicely done. The taste wasn't too dry and taste great when you squeeze the lemon over it.

Rosti (Fried Potatoes) with Spanish Salami / Sausage. The taste is not as good as Marche but it is still up to my picky tastebuds.

Rice or barley with prawns.No much comment of the dish but overall the taste is good.

Kebab which is served in sizzling plate and cheesy topping.

Duck Confit from France Stall.The taste is not too salty with crispy skin and tender meat. This is highly recommended by my friend and we are quite comfortable with the taste.

We had a $30 voucher to be used at Orchard central and wanted to go to laobeijing but it was closed so settled for Medz.Medz markets itself as a marche-styled restaurant that serves meditaranean food. It offers spanish, turkish and french cuisine. Of course they also serves alcohol and desserts. Compared to marche, its a much smaller scale of variety but the place itself is huge but pretty empty.  I had read good reviews of its kebabs but i didnt really wanted one so i tried this dish which i have never heard before called spring chicken tajine. According to angmokia it was a kind of stew. It was quite to my taste except the gravy was too little and abit too salty but the chicken was generous! It also came with a side of coucous/rice(choose the couscous!). It offers a variety of tajine so it has vegetables or seafood. The chicken was really tender and try to soak the coucous in the gravy. =P

 As there wasnt any veg and being the veg lover i am, i took a salad. it works in a similar way as marche-- 2 sizes of plate and u pile on as much as u can. i took the smaller one which cost $6 and u can choose from 4 types of dressing.

 Angmokia also took a red wine which we were thinking was a spanish one because it tasted way too strong at first sip so dont take it! I ordered the mocha latte as well but it was so-so only. Save your money for a better coffee some where else.

Not too impressed but may come back to eat if im in the area to try the other food, esp the kebab!

anyway my friend tried the tiramisu and she say very nice

the cashier so attentive he ask if we are student and we say we are and woohahaha! there's student price for it ! 50%
and the total bill is $6plus . instead of 13dollars plus

good service , some other places cashier wont even ask that (;

 Nice prawns and clams. Don't really like the texture of the rice though. Too much of cheese. Too sticky. 5/10

Definitely will come back again, since the price is reasonable ($20 - $30), and ambiance is great (dark environment, seems classy). The service is good as well, since the people there were all nice and friendly.

I went back to Medz again for dinner the other day, and this time round I had the Salmon pasta from the Italian stall. I have had their awesome Carbonara pasta before, that's why I have pretty high expectation on this Salmon pasta. However, to my disappointment, this Salmon pasta is rather plain in taste. The tomato sauce is not rich enough, but the salmon is quite well-cooked though.

One of my friend ordered the chicken hotplate with rice. Strong cheesy and tomato taste and it looked quite filling. The rice was orangy. Another friend ordered this dory which came with mashed potato, salad, brinjal and garlic. I think that dory is always the safest choice if you do not want your f

I think that dory is always the safest choice if you do not want your fish meal to go wrong. Mine was the worst among all of the 3 dishes. The sea bream I ordered stinks! The fishy smell was over whelming that I have to eat it with the lemon juice and even with the brinjal. I liked the brinjal the most as it tasted really good. As for the mashed potato, it felt rather dry without any sauce to go with.

I ordered the kebab that consists of the mixture of lam and beef, and served on the sizzling hotplate with tomato sauce and lots of cheese. This is the first time I had kebab this way (other than the usual way where the meat is wrapped in the Turkish bread sheet). The meat is tender, but with some part of it crisply charcoal-burned.
