Check out the piece of quarter chicken in my picture. It is very skinny and small. 2 sides with a quarter chicken cost $15.50. I think chicken was tasty, I did like the sauce - garlic and chilli. But really felt that it is too expensive. For the sides you can choose from 4 choices and I only took the sauteed veg. The vegetables were well cooked - broccoli, carrots, cauliflower sauteed in garlic. Healthy and not too oily.

For some late night dinner, my friend and I went to Charly T's. I think it was about 10pm already so I didn't want a heavy meal. I just ordered the Slappy Joe with chips. The size of the burger was just small so I wont recommend it if you're starving. But for the night, the portion was just right for me. The burger was just so simple, there are bits of tomato-sauce drenched meat, cheese, and onions. Chips were unpleasantly chewy already, which meant that they've been exposed to air for too long.

Menu is basically up above the counter, and some cute drawings opposite the counter drew by cute kids pending for your honorable recognition!

Recommended drink by Charly T's is the Cool Aid ($7.00), consisting of barley, pear, and lemonade. Also had the Green Flash ($7.00) having green apple, orange, and pineapple. And Red Tang ($7.00) with strawberry, cranberry, and lychee.

Their signature Rotisserie Chicken! We had both the original ($24.00) and seasonal ($26.00) rotisserie, that comes with 2 additions each for half chicken. The 4 additions available are German Potato Salad, Fresh Vegetables, Butter Garlic Rice, and Macaroni & Cheese. I loved their butter garlic rice and macaroni cheese!

Ordered their Jumbo Schnitzel Burger ($18.00). Crispy and tender chicken meat!

Kaiserchmarrn ($16.00). Comes in a form of cut-pancakes with rum raisins and vanilla ice cream! I love this dessert as waffles are served hot, and combined together with the "freezing" ice-cream, it feels so... "exciting"?

Tried another which is Bacon and Cheese-filled Waffle ($8.00). It taste kinda weird though, in contrast with other's opinion being unique and nice?

Charly T is a most unique persona ‘as it could have been, should have been, and as such would be’. ‘Charly’ first started as a nickname, which stuck with him for it described him so well.

‘Charly’ in Mandarin, '‘查理’, means to investigate, search, and research – or more simply, the ‘seeker of truth’.

‘Charly’ in the West comes from the base word ‘Charles’, which in German means a free-spirited man.

Free-spirited, curious and adventurous, Charly T enjoys in equal parts food, music and the art of food journeying. Much of this could be seen from the decorations of the restaurant, with a sliding door (as the entrance to the toilet) and photographs on the wall featuring journey and travel.

An overview of the KC Ribeye Steak
I ordered medium, which proved too tough for my razor-sharp teeth. I guess only vampires have strong enough fangs to sink into such tough meat, or perhaps Wolverine from X-men would see fit.

Anyway it was quite surprising because the innerparts showed bloody red but the meat was quite tough (yet chewy at the same time), my jaws were really having a great workout.

I love the vegetables that came along with it! It was really fresh and juicy, perhaps slightly steamed because it wasn't too raw.

The sauce that came along with it was really unique, it probably is the specialty of Kansas City sauces because I've never tasted such sour-sweet bitterness before. I wasn't too used to it though.

The lamb stew is pure shiokness (singlish: delicious in the utmost perfection), it was warm and soft and juicy and not too fattening. I could feel my body sinking into the chair as it relaxes itself from such a little piece of heavenly meat.

The rice that came along with it though, was very fragrant and tasted like Mediterranean cuisine. I would highly recommend the Lamb Stew if you don't want to waste your calories.

The chicken cordon Bleu is one of the popular favourites among the locals. It is actually chicken fried in bread crust that has ham and cheese stuffed in it. Total perfection, absolutely delicious!

I love the melted cheese and the spices that they used to marinate the chicken. YUM YUM! This is my #1 favourite out of the three dishes ordered.

The meal was quite costly though, perhaps we were paying for the rental rather than the food. I was blessed to have great customer service waiting on us, she gave me many good advices on what to order and the tea to go along with it as well. You can get free hot water refill for your tea!

Total Cost - $70.05

It was a last minute decision to have our dinner at Charly T's, as the Groupon voucher that I bought ages ago expired on that day. I was quite reluctant as it was nowhere near my place, however the journey time from Dhoby Ghaut to Charly T's is no more than a 5-minute stroll. Thank God, I didn't really want to waste the $40 worth of vouchers anyway.

Since Rotisserie Chicken was marked as their speciality, we decided to try out a quarter (S$14.50) which comes together with 2 side dishes. Having eaten the roasted chicken, I can't understand what's the hype about. There was no doubt that the marination was done pretty well and the faint charred taste was a plus, however considering that it was the breast area I had, it was still dry and ain't juicy at all. For the sides, our choices were steamed vegetables and mac-and-cheese, both which hardly passes the mark as well.

Cordon Bleu Chicken (S$14) barely hit the spot too, but it's definitely better than the rotisserie chicken. The breast meat this time round was not oily, yet tender and fairly juicy with the usual ham and cheese, encased in a crispy crust of bread crumbs. Lovely, just that the cheese was too bland and runny for my liking. Thick cut potato chips was good, much better than the ones in MacDonalds or Kenny Rogers.

I don't even know why Kaiserschmarrn (S$16) became our dessert, but I figured out its because of the unique name that we don't even understand. And so it came, light and fluffy pancake, and showered with icing sugar and raisins, accompanied by home-made vanilla ice cream. Although the menu itself describes this Austrian-German dessert as "****-ed up pancakes…good for 2!", portion-wise, yes it's good, but as a whole, I wouldn't say I was that accustomed to the particular moist, eggy-banana flavour. BUT! The homemade ice cream was awesome. It was one of the best I've ever had. It comes at S$4 per scoop if you want another serving of heaven.

In a nutshell, Charly T serves decent Western affair (well, mostly), but it's not that worth it, if without vouchers. Oh well, at least I know what's Kaiserschmarrn now. Do you?

a quarter chicken and two sides.

the chicken was very well marinated! and i love the spices used. it had a morrocan taste to it.

but the sides were mediocre. the mac and cheese was a lil too al dente and the cheese sauce was a nightmare.

the german potatoes had a lard oily taste due to the bacon. too strong for my taste.

We ordered one waffle to share since my friend eats a little. Seriously, just a few bites and she's done so that pretty much leaves the bigger portion to me. Hehe. Anyway, it was served with butter and syrup.

I was quite disappointed that it was hard. Perhaps it was left in the waffle maker a few minutes longer so it kinda hurt my the back of my mouth when I chewed or bit the waffle. Even the little syrup given to me didn't help. Plus the portion was smaller compared to the other waffle place I tried at The Cathay...

MMMMMMM, this place sells good roast chicken. It was well roasted and marinated. The flavours were obvious and the not too oily. I love the chicken skin because it was crispy. The side dishes like fried rice was quite forgettable. The mac and cheese was so-so, being too oily than cheesy. So remember to just save your stomach for the excellent roast chicken!!!! Also can try the lime mousse.

I have bought the promotional coupons from Qoo10.com.sg which is super value for money. At only $5.99, I am entitled to purchase twenty dollars of food items. Happily I tried their dessert, molten cake with vanilla ice cream, which actually taste really good! Love the smooth warm dark chocolate that flow out from the cake when I slice it. It is not too sweet and great to have it with its smooth vanilla ice cream. Two thumbs up!

We also ordered chicken wrap and it was pretty good too. For the amount of chicken they give, I thought this as a really good deal for its price. Inside the wrap was a certain type of dressing/sauce which gave it an appetizing taste. The wrap was a little overloaded with sauces though, but still good and worthy! It comes with a side dish choice too, so SY ordered garlic rice, which was mmhhmm fragrant!

This was the side dish we had:

Hot wings $12
The amount was great. Large amount which makes two of us extremely full and satisfied.
However, I would like to warn diners that this wings can be really spicy and a little sour! Spiciness level: 4/5.

To complete this dinner, we ordered the ice crem float, with a choice of coke and rootbeer. I prefer rootbeer so I went for it.

Really yummy to bite the frozen icecream in the drink!

Overall, the place was really quiet on a wednesday night, not much patrons and no queue either. The food came rather fast, so if you are ordering sides and you don't like to be overwhelmed by too many dishes at one go, be sure to let the waiter know that you would want the dishes to be served in a staggered manner!

I forgot to mention, one of their waiters was amazing. He's a very polite and friendly waiter who satisfy our demands willingly, with no signs of irritation in his face. He even smiled at us after telling him what we need. Good service here! (Or the credits should probably go to him only)

Good place to eat but prices will be a little above average, but still acceptable.

Service wise, i was seated near the table closest to the toilet which is not an issue for me, just that the servers hardly pay attention to the diners at this corner. Many a times i hv to raise my voice a little to catch the attention of the server after waiting for them to get my eye contact to grant me assistance.

I opted for the quarter chicken that was served together with two sides and two sauces as recommended by my friend. I ordered the original recipe which costs $13. The texture of chicken was tender and soft in the inside and slightly crispy on the outside. Delicious! The two sides I chose were butter garlic rice and macaroni & cheese. Both were flavourful and portions were just nice. I had their beverage, Red Tang- a unique ice-blended juice mixture served in cocktail glass. It was refreshing and tangy, worth to try though the price is on the steeper side. Lastly, I had their vanilla with martini icecream topped with strawberries bits as dessert, which was a nice combination with a little alcohol taste. To sum up, Charly T’s is a nice place to enjoy good food and chill.
Do take note that there is no printed menu available to browse and patrons have to make their orders at the counter. It is thus fair that there is no service charge in this restaurant!

It was very tender and tasted absolutely well even without the sauces (original and sesame sauces were given), of a great culinary standard indeed! Among the 4 sides were butter garlic rice, macaroni & cheese, potato salad and green vegetables. We took the combination of butter garlic rice, macaroni & cheese and potato salad. The sides were delicious too, but i would prefer macaroni & cheese to be slightly cheesier.

For beverages, I tried their Mocha ($5) which was not a good choice as it tasted very normal. Would not be comparable to coffeehouse standards, thus better to give it a miss. Red Tang ($6.50) was an interesting bright red that came in cocktail glass, a nice concoction! Their float, coke with icecream, ($5.50) was not something out of the ordinary, but definitely great to satisfy the desire for some fizzy drink ocassionally. To complete the meal, we shared a vanilla flavoured icecream with martini and bits of strawberries and also an icecream sandwich - vanilla icecream wedged between 2 pieces of crunchy raisin cookies. Icrecream was creamy and rich, yummy!

On the overall, the restaurant served great food but prices of beverages and desserts were quite expensive. Service wise, the waiters and waitresses had been prompt with their delivery and clearing of dishes, nothing to pick on! Thanks to BigDeal food voucher, we paid only half of the price! Cheers to all thewonderful deals in Singapore!

Went there with 2 vouchers bought online (yes i'm an addict for discounts). total i had $40 worth to spend. This is what i ordered.

1. half chicken with potato salad/vegetables/macroni and cheese
2. CT Fries
3. Kaiserschmarrn (pancake with ice cream)

total bill was $50.30

1. As the additions were served separately on small bowls, the half chicken was presented on a large plate with no garnish etc, this i thought can be improved. chicken quality was a tad too dry for my liking. Put it this way, you probably can't eat it without an accompanying sauce. The skin on the other hand tasted nice, not too oily and typical of the rotisserie style of cooking. Anyway i've learned that the chicken is never frozen but marinated and chilled. hard to believe that its never frozen though
. The chicken comes with 3 different types of sauces bbq/sesame/spicy, only bbq and spicy appealed to me but the bad thing is they serve in in those shallow triangular saucer like MacDonald's, hardly get to enjoy it properly without making several additional top ups.

2. CT Fries have nothing to shout about and the salsa liked sauce for the fries did not complement it. Average i must say.

3. Vanilla ice cream and sliced pancake with honey and raisins (heated). i would give thumbs up to this dessert. having them both together, the cold ice cream and the warm pancake seems to work well

Additional thoughts
- though it looks like a restaurant, you actually have to order via a counter like fast food restaurant then you get your food served. it could had helped the diners in ordering if there were more pictures on the menu. i noticed there were a few nice appealing food photos on the glass panel but sadly i did not see them near the menu, i may have ordered those instead.
- the fork and knife set looks classy with unconventioanlly straight angles but did not prove realistic when it comes to cutting the chicken etc
- ice water is free
- the comfy padded seats beside lcd screen is preferred
- despite having good human traffic, their business seems to be brisk, i think the owner could make some changes to improve it
- music selection does not really match the theme of the restaurant
- there is a round table at 1 corner, sitting up to 10 ppl i think, not a bad place for a gathering
- nice and clean toilets
- based on the current traffic, this outlet is nice if you want a quiet place for a quick catch up with a close friend, provided there is no big group in the house

decided to try out this place with recent deal offering a roast chicken, 3 side dishes & a drink for a complete set meal at $12did not make a reservation when I head down at 8.30pm, only 1 table was occupied, but I was told that I had to wait for an hour for them to roast the chicken. The way they operate is really puzzling. roast chicken - flavour is good and meat is tender (surprisingly their roasting is good)side dishes otato salad - deliciousgarlic rice - okayvegetables - okayplace is quie

roast chicken - flavour is good and meat is tender (surprisingly their roasting is good)
side dishes :
potato salad - delicious
garlic rice - okay
vegetables - okay

place is quiet and cushion seating is comfortable. besides their questionable service, overall is okay
