This was my first time having lunch buffet at this restaurant! The ambience and design of the restaurant was really nice! The lunch timing was between 12pm-3pm. Their food was average with little meat and mostly consist of sushi, vegetables and dessert. However, one interesting thing was they had a mini steamboat which you can get it at the counter yourself.
The soup was rather salty though with plently of vegetables.

Their sashimi was average and i find that their supply of sashimi was too little ): Sometimes i went over to the counter wanted to get some sashimi but there wasn't any left.

They have a wide variety of desserts though!
Their desserts consist of brownies, matcha roll, american cheesecake, mochi balls (with red bean and seasame filling respectively), tiramisu with chocolate and a few others which i had foegotten their names.

Personally, i like their tiramisu with chocolate and american cheesecake.
Their brownie was average and alittle too dry in the middle. The matcha roll was a dissapointment as it was far too dry and it would have been better if it was moist and had stronger matcha taste.

Overall, given the quality and variety of food, it was quite reasonable. However, it would have been better if there were more variety of meat.

I like the dessert section the most, especially the self made ice cream section! You are allow to add different toppings on it! The salmon is like bottomless, once you finished what is on your table, went back the section and it will be refill with plenty of salmon sashimi! and all this although the variety is not as many as hotel, but i think the standard of the buffet and ambient is comparable to a hotel!
Each person spend less than $30 there!

There is the crab for dinner!

Chiso Zanmai is a very clean restaurant and it is also brightly lit. My favourite place to sit down and chit chat with friends. The staff are very receptive to our requests. We ordered the Japanese Buffet. They have a wide variety of Japanese food here, from sushis, makis, tempura, seafood etc and desserts! I literally tried a bite of everything and there was nothing I could fault as everything was fresh and good! This is easily my favourite place. Be careful of summon officers!

You really have to appreciate consuming raw meat, the Japanese way.For a fish to be suitable for sashimi and sushi, it has to be bled to ensure that the blood in the fish doesn't spoil the meat upon oxidation. Gutted to ensure that the parasites that are usually found in the guts doesn't migrate out and contaminate the whole fish. Afterwhich, the whole fish has to be thoroughly iced to retain the freshness. All these are happening right at the moment when the fish are caught.See what I mean when

The variety of sushi they have is rather commendable. Bite size little treats but I was quite disappointed when I realised they didn't place wasabi within the sushi. That would be perfect and authentic sushi already but hey, no complains about their quality from me.

Sashmi comes in two forms; Sake and Maguro. Between the two, Sake was my preferred choice as was Mr T's as well. I find the maguro to be too thick which makes it laborious to savour and they are not exactly the top quality ones as well that I expected. Besides serving sake in its raw form, there's also different marinated ones. Yuzu was my favorite though
Fresh and subtle.

Ever tried Corn or Matcha Tofu? Personally, the green matcha tofu on the was more to my liking than the corn one. The Fried Tofu was beautifully crafted and taste just as delectable as it looks but the ultimate winner of the four would have to be the chawanmushi.

I know a good Chawanmushi when I have one. A good cuppa would have a savoury sweetness taste right from the moment it touches the lips. A good cuppa would be delicate but just firm enough to scoop the goodness out without becoming all messed up.

In this case, they did it well!

Profiteroles are small little pastry balls filled with pastry cream. I love the feeling of the pastry cream exploding in your mouth when you compress the little brown puffs. The Matcha Creme Brulee was great too! The sugarish caramel was evenly balanced and there wasn't bits of crystals which would otherwise spoil the whole experience as I made my way into the soft green custard.

Swiss Rolls were delightfully sweet although they looked more like sandwiches than rolls if you asked me. Maybe they should change the name to Swiss Sandwiches instead! I think there's nothing much to describe about Panna Cotta. I was hesitant at first. I have never seen panna cotta in squareish forms before but in the end, I decided to give it a try and thank God I did...

They will change their Menu monthly and this is one of the reason why I like this place. Their service is fast and the clear-plate-Aunty is friendly and efficient ! (Y) The refilling of food is fast too.

I HIGHLY recommend their Matcha Tofu. It have a texture between a pudding and panna cotta but its not sweet. Have a strong Matcha fragrance. It look like a dessert but it's an Appetizer. :Q

They have Perx too. Collect the stamps and enjoy free drinks and $10 & $20 Voucher! Another reason why I'm so in love with this buffet restaurant.

We didn't try their shizuoka oden because they didn't look that appetizing. We tried their ramen, and totally regretted our choice. No doubt the pork slices were quite decent, the rest of the ramen was just ... meh. The broth was too soupy and noodles too soft. It was as though we were having maggie mee instead of ramen.

Chiso Zanmai is also slow in refilling the food. Their cold counter (consists of salad and some seafood) was rather empty when we went back for our 2nd round.

Their matcha tofu was so goooood we had a few more pieces.

Overall, the staff were efficient in clearing our plates (maybe a little too enthusiastic at the same time) and we thought Chiso Zanmai is actually quite a good place for birthday celebrations if you are looking for a restaurant that won't burn your pocket and has ample space for large group gatherings.

I heard they serve sashimi for the dinner buffet, do check it out if you love your sashimi!

I was here on a thursday with a group of about 20 friends. The restaurant was not too crowded, perhaps at about 80percent capacity. The buffet spread was rather large and satisfying. I especially enjoyed the chawanmushi. For a japanese buffet, there was only tiny bowls of sashimi served. Perhaps at the price point of about $20, sashimi is not served. I enjoyed the desserts of cheesecake.
