Order a fish and chips for lunch and changed the side dish to coleslaw and mashed potato. The fish is bad and tasteless. All you can taste is the flour that is been use to fry the fish. Never once had a fish and chips like this before. As for the coleslaw is those premix and cupped onto the plate. The only acceptable is their mashed potato. at least there is some taste to it. Will not recommend this dish to anyone.

Though appearance looked good, the cheese was not very fragrant, something like normal slice cheese smell.

The chicken ham was actually tasteless. I would prefer they use pork ham instead to give the oily feel.

Overall was average taste as you cannot get to eat this menu at any other place.

Beside patronising the famous bar chor mee, Happy Chef western food is one of my favourite choice as well. Offering with more than 20 kinds of selection, I decided to go for one of their bestseller, which is the stuffed pork loin. I like the presentation of the dish as it show the crispiness of the pork wrapped around the ham and cheese. The cheese is definitely what make this dish stand out. Lastly, they do serve a generous serving for just $8.

One of their popular items is the Chicken Kiev--deep fried chicken rolled with cheese and ham. At $9, I found the price steep initially but the portion was HUGE. The amount of gooey cheese right at the centre was very generous, and thus stealing the limelight from the leading actor, Mr Chicken.

There was no doubts about the crispy chicken coating, but the cheese solidified very quickly and turned into a chewy rubber that dislodged from the chicken. The taste emerged neither from the chicken nor the cheese, but the HAM. Better eat while it is still hot.

Nothing unique about the homemade mushroom sauce, as raved about in the video.

Perhaps we should have ordered the Fish & Chips instead of Chicken Schnitzel $6. Despite the visible black pepper flecks, the chicken itself was bland and nearly tasteless. Did not help much by the salty chilli sauce.

Though the entire cutlet was flawlessly fried, some parts of the chicken skin was uncoated evenly and became very soft & greasy . We wished we had KFC as we slogged through the characterless meat.

I can't be sure whether standards have dropped since it's my first try. (The owners who made TV appearance were not there) Furthermore, I have only tried 2 out of the 30 dishes here. Food not exceptional but the Chicken Kiev is still the better out of the two.

The Service
I was given a number tag once i ordered hence no need to wait in the queue. The waiting time is also quite short hence acceptable.

The Ambience
Although the stall is in a coffeeshop, i find that the place was well-ventilated and not stuffy.

The Price
Best Value for money at $6 to enjoy a "Ang Mor" portion and restaurant style western food !!

Overall
I will definitely come back again to try other varieties and highly recommended to try this!

Most people who visit Tai Hwa Eating House are there to patronise the Pork Noodle stall. For those who are accompanying friends/family who insist on having the noodles, yet do not want to eat noodles or can't eat pork, having a western meal might be the only other option.

Positioned right next to the noodle stall, the workers here are working just as hard. An endless stream of customers placing orders and they can afford to have people deliver the food over.

Prices are slightly higher than what you might expect at typical coffee shops, averaging S$6 per meal.

I had the Fish Schnitzel at this visit. The meal comes with a piece of breaded fish, fries, a 'over-turned cup' of coleslaw and a saucer of mayo.

The fries and fish were good and went well with the chilli sauce, which you could help yourselves to.
The mayo was, hmm, not advisable to touch that. It did not appear fresh to the friend and I. I did take a dip of it just to try and, conclusion? It had a weird taste that I did not fancy.

The coleslaw.. oh gosh. I was a little tired so did not do what I usually would have done. Bring the plate back to the stall holder to ask for a change. The coleslaw had a sourish tinge; suggesting it might have been left on the shelves for far too long!

Risk suffering a bout of diarrhoea? Nah. It was pushed aside and never touched again.

This is one bustling coffee shop despite having just two fully operational stalls. Seats/tables are hard to secure during meal times. An advice would be to have a meal before the usual meal times?

First of all, I think it is quite special to have mushrooms with fried fish, and I think that it actually turned out a pretty nice dish. The fish is not really fresh as it is quite soggy, but the mushroom and chilly sauce make them tasty. Well, It comes with a small pile of salad, a small piece of toast and a small pile of Brocoli. I think that the Brocoli only tastes good when we mixes it with the salad and add some chilly sauce, or else you're going to get sicked of it. The fries are actually really hard and tasteless. All of them are actually depended on the chilly sauce. I only tried a little bit of my friend's pork chop, and I think the texture is even worst. It is so hard and my teeth needs to be strong, But the meat is actually tasty. The rest of hes are the same as mine. Overall, I think different people have different taste, I would say, its a no no.

At just $6 per plate, this serving of BBQ chicken chop with fries, garlic bread and mash potatoes. Besides its large serving, the meat is not too tough and is tender and easy to chew. As for the bbq sauce it is not too spicy or sweet and matches well with the meat. I liked the mash potatoes and garlic bread which adds alternative flavour to it. The fries has a slightly strong taste of potatoes as well and overall a highly recommended stall to try for its price and taste!

I am in love with their big piece of chicken cutlet. The meat was well marinated with different types of herbs and spices before they fried it. It tasted quite different from other western foods stalls. They served it with boiled vegetables like carrots and broccoli and no fries. It balanced up and make this a healthy choice. The piece of garlic bread is done very well too. Recommended.

The menu at Happy Chef was extensive. They offer close to 15 variations of western food. I was distracted by the Stuff Pork Loin, Parmasan Chicken Cutlet, the Baby Back Ribs ( which looked like pork rib stew)and finally made my choice – Grilled Fish, just feels like having fish for today.

The lady who took my order was very friendly, while she tries to be nice despite the never ending Q and piling orders. You have to make payment upon ordering and she handed me a yellow table no. tag. The same lady also runs the food to our table.

This is another hidden gem in a coffee shop. I can’t wait to try the other items available. Who says you can’t find good quality western food at affordable price. The pork slices were actually quite thick and there was 2 slices! The slices were quite thick, they were juicy and nice, not tough at all! The mushroom sauce was also heavenly! Not from a can!I am determined to return soon and try all the over food this stall sells!

We ordered a set of Chicken Schnitzel for $6.00. This is a traditional dish in Austrian made with a boneless piece of chicken, marinated with herbs and coated a layer of bread crumbs before deep fried it. The dish was accompanied with french fries, a portion of blanched vegetables like white cabbage, carrot, broccoli and a piece of garlic bread.

My partner did not like the stronge taste of the herbs used hence he preferred the Chicken Parmesan that we had the last time. The chicken was quite a big piece and nicely fried to give its the crispiness with its tenderness still intact. The blanched vegetables is a healthier alternative compared to other sides commonly available at most western food stalls.

Their new outlet is just a stone's throw from home and we will be there soon to check it out.

Big's the word for this western stall. And for $6, it was reasonably portioned, good enough to make you full for sure. The Chiptole Chicken came as a regular chicken cutlet with a saucer of chiptole sauce by the side. Fries were okay and the garlic bread was not too bad, unlike many hawker westerns which have tastless garlic spreads. Overall the meat was easy on the teeth but it was nothing to shout about.
