After having lunch at Pizza Hut with Mr. Keith Te this afternoon, we decided to search for a cafe serving local desserts.

I saw the waitress served our order and displayed very nice, which are perfectly available for eating.

The bandung ice is rich in bandung flavour accompanied by toppings like atap chee and its sweetness is right for my taste. The snow ice had a delicate texture and was airy between layers. The paper-thin ribbons were neatly stacked in layers. It is indeed a dessert extremely pleasing to the eyes and taste buds alike. However, my friend did not like it, so never bother to finish it.

Durian Sawdust Pudding was very yummy and cheaper because it costs S$5.30.

We Tried the durian puree, which is really great. It comes with a scope of rich durian puree atthe center and is so rich it feels like eating the durian itself. For only $6.50, it is a small peice of heavan for durian lovers in the heart of the city in air con comfort! Nice!

Since a few years back, snow ice has started to trend especially at hong kong cafe but this is definitely the best I've ever tried. The paste is not too sweet, just of the right level of sweetness and it is very nice. I probably enjoyed it so much because I am hungry and I havent had this for a long time. Nonetheless, it is money well spent as I finished every drop of the peanut paste.

I like this dessert stall only selectively for a few of its items. Having tried several items on the menu, I have had mixed pleasant and unpleasant experiences here. Yet I still frequent the place for a few particular items. I love, in particular, the Bean Curd with Walnut paste ($3.80). However I order it without the addition of syrup as the Walnut paste is already sweet itself. The combination of both is perfect, both the hot and chiller version.Besides that, the Mango Roll is good too. Heard

Besides that, the Mango Roll is good too. Heard the Durian one is not too bad. The skin is not too thick but with thick mango chunks. But at times the mango might be quite sourish

It is advisable to give some of the items a miss such as the Coconut Jelly, the Green Tea Mousse and the Osmanthus Jelly. Overall, the range of varieties is quite wide and reasonably-priced.

After my dinner, stop by here to have my dessert. Is crowded & pack, take about 20 minutes waiting time. Ordered Yin Yang Mango Black Glutinous Rice (Cold) - $6.50, this my first time trying mango mix with black glutinous, taste is weird. Too much of the Glutinous Rice cover the mango taste, and Mango with Sago (cold) - $4.50, i like the mango cut in cube is taste nice. Just to share they only accept CASH. Overall is not bad for the dessert

Recently, I went to Ji De Chi for desserts. The price of the desserts had increased since the last time I had been there and each plate of shaved ice is now $5.50 and above instead of $5 in the past. The green tea ice is good. It is not too sweet and the ice just melts in your mouth. There is also a slight hint of evaporated milk taste in the shaved ice which enhances the taste of the shaved ice. The red beans are quite sweet so you can pair it together with the ice so that there is more taste. Of the three ingredients, I like pairing the ice with the tang yuan balls as it is quite chewy. The only thing is that I feel the tang yuan balls can be smaller so that it is more complimentary to the shaved ice. The dessert is quite filling if you eat everything by yourself, but alright if it is shared.

The famed durian pomelo sago on the other hand, won me over with every bite. It was like durian puree or pure durian if you will. Thick and creamy, this dessert is a must try at Ji De Chi, especially for durian lovers. If I were to crave for durians, I'd probably settle my cravings for them here.

The dumpling is sweet and salty at the same time. As a Cantonese who prefer Cantonese style rice dumpling, I really could not appreciate this dish.

Finally my favourite and limelight dish : First impression of the white fungus papaya has an invisible label that spells “HEALTHY”. Mellow and refreshing , fresh ingredients and right amount of subtle sweetness.
A "beauty foodie" tip I'd like to share is the medicinal benefits of the white fungus include healing dry coughs , heat in lungs and not forgetting the importance for us women that its collagen content helps keeping the skin young! Papaya is low in calories and high in nutrition therefore it’s great for those on a diet and these are just one of the MANY plus factors as it nourishes from tip to toe and out to in of the body, for both males and females. (And to some girls should also know that it helps natural development of breasts as well)

Now we don’t have a negative label on the word “dessert” !

If you are looking for some chendol, but would like a thirst-quenching dessert, there is the chendol shaved ice from ji de chi. They have another branch near ah chew which is the original outlet. The chendol shaved ice costs around $5+, and the portion is quite big so it's good to share. The atap seeds and red beans go well with the snow ice which melts in your mouth; wasn't too sweet as well.

Ordered the milk pudding with mango puree and mango pomelo sago with black herbal jelly. The milk pudding as shown in the photo has mango syrup inside so you have to mix it well so it won't taste so sweet. The mango pomelo sago was not really worth $5.50 because there's very little jelly and pomelo inside the dessert. The place is quite packed though so we have to share a table with other people.

Shared a Iced Mango Sago with my friend at Ji De Chi, at $4.50. They close at 10pm, and we arrived at 9.45pm. They were still allowing last orders by then. The portion is quite small, and I could tell that each dessert's portion is really just for one person. It is refreshing but nothing special, nothing that cannot be replicated at home. More of a place to chill out and spend two hours chatting there rather than for the desserts themselves.

Yesterday after lunch, I had dessert at Ji De Chi. I went for something hot, their which costs $3. I realise if you order pastes, the paste will be served to you more quickly than other desserts. The other table beside me which ordered the cold desserts had their desserts served to them later than me. The almond paste is quite a disappointment. It was rather watered down and the almond flavour is not as strong as what I would like it to be. I will probably not order this again in future.
