So tired after work! Try my favourite childhood raspberry ice cream at Malaysia Boleh @ $1. Many places had increase their price to $1.20 which claim that they serve a bigger portion that those $1 ice cream. But i still prefer the $1 as ice cream was to satisfy my cravings not to keep me full and the smaller the portion the less sinful i feel! There is also a variety of flavour offers by the stall and is the uncle is friendly too! ^^ worth to give a try!

Malaysia Boleh! is quite a nice place to eat especially malaysian food! The hao jian is really nice but the oysters they gave are a bit little. Tried the Penang laksa and was really disappointed when I've eaten it. For $4 the bowl only has plain noodles inside with no meat and only a few veggies on top. My friend tried the la che mian and it was not bad and worth the price of $2!

A hearty malaysian style chicken laksa is what I yearn for! Unlike any other curry mee, what malaysia boleh offered is different. Condiments include, white chicken with smooth skin(oh yammy!), few small slices of fish maw, tau pok and yellow noodles. Yellow noodles are of a different texture as size. They are slightly smaller in diameter as compared to the usual ones we eat at the hawker center. Yellow mee does not have much "ki" smell. The laksa soup is light but flavorful. Although it is quite sinful to have meals with coconut especially after 8pm, I will still think my try out for chicken laksa worth the calories.

Service
Like any other stall in malaysia boleh, we all have to queue up for the food we want. Service from the 2 stalls where I had placed my food is moderately fine.

Ambience
There was less seatings during 8pm sharp on the weekdays. I took the left over table which was located at one corner near the empty utensils collection point. The location was quite out of place and uncomfortable to dine in as we get the workers collecting the plates walking in and out behind our backs.

Price
Pricing and taste cannot be compared to what we have in Malaysia of course. Considering the price of wanton mee, we can get better taste from hawker outside. As for the curry chicken, I will say it is worth what I'm paying for.

Recommendation / Tips
Try avoiding peak hours as it is often hard for one to secure a seat.

Went to Malaysia Boleh on Tuesday during lunch and it was full of people! Anyway, I tried the La Che Mian and it was quite nice at a cheap price of $2. I've also ordered Hao Jian at $4 as shown in the picture and it was by far one of the best I've eaten. However, the queue was really long and you have to wait quite a while for him to cook your order. Tried their longan water as well but it wasn't as good as I thought.

We have orderd a plate of Fried KL Hokkien Mee - $6.00, firstly because there is no queue at that time and one of us love dark sauce very much. The very dark sauce spoonful depicts the origins of KL fried hokkien mee served in the olden days kind of steel oval plate. This thick mee is totally different from what we have seen from ordinary singapore hawkers. It is smooth and silky, another version of Bee tai Mak but just that its fatter.

The thick Mee is coated with sweet dark sauce, each plate comes with a few pieces of cabbage, prawns, meat and every mouthful consume consists the fragrance of pork lard. Bear in mind that each plate is fried base on per order and you can still see the steam coming out from your plate.

One lady walked passed me and I thought the bowl of food that she was holding was quite appealing - its color catches my eyes, orange carrot, green vegetables and brown sauce soup.
That's the Asam Laksa which costs $4. There are no other size given except for this! Asam laksa is well known for its sour and spicy taste and yes! this is what you get in the bowl.

After sipping down a few spoonful of the sour soup from the laksa, I find that my appetite had actually grown in size suddenly. The asam is definitely the culprit!
Overall the taste is somehow there but you can have a more closer try in malaysia if you want to have a taste of how penang laksa is.

The glue! Fried Oyster - $4
$4 for a miserable plate of Orh Luak! Well, comes with a few orh luak with the slimy and gooy eggy prepared starch. The Oysters are somehow "divorce" from the island of egg, laying flat individually on top. This plate of Orh Luak is close to ordinary but it definitely has the malaysian style in it. There is no cripsy or crunchy bites from this plate!

The chilli that comes with it is rather special. It's not watery and quite strong in smell. Try it with the orh luak.

Service
Overall service is moderate with self service. Well, the cleaners are well trained to clear up the used dishes fast.

Ambiene
Very difficult to get seats. Just imagine you still have to queue after 9.30pm. For the drink stall we also have to queue, it's maddness. In the end we gave up queuing for the Mata Kuching Drink.

Recommendations
There is a lady outside selling those traditional ice cream at $1.

There are very limited seats here and I had trouble finding a seat during the peak lunch time period. I ordered a plate of oyster omelette which was rather ordinary. There was quite a lot of starch in the omelette and I would say this version is fried slightly more crispier than the usual dish we're accustomed to. There were only a few oysters available in my dish and I was a little disappointed having paid more for a bigger portion.

I also bought their longan luo han guo drink at $1, they used a metal old-fashioned cup unlike the usual plastic cup we had. The drink was refreshing and soothing to the throat, there are pieces of longan in it and this drink totally fascinates me.

The place was rather small thus it is tough to find seats, they had an old coffee shop kind of feel to it, it is definitely reminiscing. However, food sold there are quite pricey which is a bad point.

I dont like the crowded experience i had in Malaysia Boleh. Everyone was waiting for seat and giving you pressure when you are dinning. Worst of all, after finding seats, you have to beat the long waiting queues to buy your food, by the time we get our food, I think I fainted. The concept of the stalls is good. Its like a food court with different stalls selling their own malaysian food. I do frequent visits to malaysia as well and i find that the food here is a far cry as compared to malaysia.

It mimics the food streets in Malaysia, albeit a lot cleaner (: It is like an air-conditioned and high-class hawker centre. They also play retro Chinese music in the background, giving off old-fashioned and classy vibes. There are many stalls selling many Malaysia/Singapore good food like hokkien mee, fried kway teow, chicken rice etc. etc. Reminds me of Marche – but with local food. You will be spoilt for choice! A good place to recommend to your foreign friends who want to try local food but don’t want to brave the heat.

My friend and I decided to try one of the mee rebus (see picture!).

I was quite surprised that it is actually quite spicy even though it does not appear to be. There are two types of noodles – one is the thicker white ones, and one is the mifen ones. The gravy is really fragrant, delicious and very very good. It is a few notches better than the ones you find in hawker centres. Definitely worth a try.

The service is very fast-paced and clears your tray almost immediately when you finished.

However, the downside is that this place is so popular that it is difficult to find a space to eat. We were there at 6pm and it was already so crowded. I can't imagine when it is the peak hour dinner time at 7 plus, the crowd would be crazy!

the fired kuey teow is not bad, very fragrantly fried. the prawn given is really big and in generous portion, but not fresh and very salty.. i think they use the salt to preserve the prawn or to cover the fishy smell of it..

the seat is very limited but if you really wanted to try malaysian food, it's still worth waiting for tables and the very long queue..

I was in Jurong Point II on 7 Oct 2012, a day after Malaysia Boleh's grand opening.
Feeling hungry and tired after a night out in town, decided to go to the 3rd floor Kopitiam.

When I was riding the escalator on 2nd floor of Jurong Point II , I was shocked to see so many
people walking ,standing & hanging around on the 3rd floor.

Initially I thought it was a high class restaurant and dare not step in.
After seeing the crowd wearing casual dressings , decided to take a look.

What caught my eyes is the nostalgic decor and the range of food it offers, all the famous cuisine from Malaysia.
But the problem is , I can hardy find any seats to eat a proper meal!

Saw the queue at the chicken rice stall was so short so decided to order at that stall.
Saw a empty seat , I quickly "chopped" the place and ask the neighbor sitting there to reserve for me.
I quickly ordered the S$3 Ipoh Buntong Bean Sprout Chicken Kuitew (怡保文冬芽菜雞粉),
that meal was really a satisfying one in my life. Chicken meat was so nice & tender that I couldn't want to eat.
Took a picture , say a prayer and finish it. Went back home feeling very satisfied

Subsequently a few days later I came back to eat with my mum.
This time round also ordered from the same stall but different dish S$3.50 Ipoh Buntong Bean Sprout Chicken Rice (怡保文冬芽菜雞飯). You may be wondering , what's so good about that stall? Very simple , the queue is so short that you can just order within 5 mins, hardly need to wait.

And we also ordered Petaling Street Famous Claypot Chicken Rice (茨廠街驰名瓦煲雞飯)
Also don't need to queue. Pay cash first, come back for 15mins later to collect your order.
This claypot rice cost $5 which imo is considered reasonable as some hawker is selling for S$6
and have to wait 30mins.

The Teh-C that we ordered was S$1.30 and I feel its the cup is too small. Taste nice though.

Overall the food is really worth coming back but they have to improve their seating capacity.

My blog regarding Malaysia Boleh is over here: http://ww.sgwarehousesale.blogspot.sg/2012/10/malaysia-boleh-food-court-prices-in.html

Looking at the small portion, one can wonder whether malaysians really do eat so little. I just thought that the tender white chicken was very fresh and this may be due to its a high turnover, there was a huge crowd no matter what time you go, and so it was quite disappointing that there's more bean sprouts over the juicy chicken. Price wise is relatively expensive for a plate of chicken.

"now we serve for all small size hokkien mee, later then the chef will cook for big size hokkien mee." then i said " if like that you should tell me now we are cook for the small size hokkien mee, if you want big size hokkien me, you have to wait for another pot. definitely i will order for small size hokkien mee." she ignore me & keep continue said that is not their misstake. The worst is she never appologize with me.
Hornestly, i will understand if i order Hokkien me & the chef is cooking carrot cake, definitely they will serve for customers who are order carrot cake 1st. but now is all customers order the same things, just the size difference. why must serve all the small size 1st? after served all the customers they still left 2 plate of small size of hokkien mee on the table!
I did not try the hokkien mee but my friends told me their hokkien mee too oily & too salty.
