Chanced upon this stall while at Bugis. The brand name is probably now franchised, now that there are so many of this Yu Kee Duck Rice stalls all over Singapore.While the rice set (with yam rice) looked appetising and wholesome with braised duck, egg and some salted veg, I decided to have duck kway teow instead, as I was not very hungry.Besides braised boneless duck, the noodle came with afew slices of fish cake. The gravy was thick and gooey, like lor mee, but lacking oomph. Chanced upon this stall while at Bugis. The brand name is probably now franchised, now that there are so many of this Yu Kee Duck Rice stalls all over Singapore.

While the rice set (with yam rice) looked appetising and wholesome with braised duck, egg and some salted veg, I decided to have duck kway teow instead, as I was not very hungry.

Besides braised boneless duck, the noodle came with afew slices of fish cake. 

The gravy was thick and gooey, like lor mee, but lacking oomph. The accompanying soup was bad news, being so artifically sweet, while the herbal smell is ok.

Now the star of the the dish - braised duck - not so tender, but passable.

The real star, I must say, is the sambal with has ikan bilis bits. It has enough heat, & the ikan bilis (while not alot, scarsely interpersed) lends a nice crunch to the sambal. The sambal is of coure, as usual, oil laden.

This coffeeshop opposite Bugis Junction's Mos Burger is usually packed and very humid during the day.I had a quick lunch and tried out the duck rice set. I think the price around $4.50.The set includes braised duck rice, braised peanuts, braised tou gua (beancurd), half a braised egg, salted veg. Very varied i would say for the price! The chilli goes perfectly with the duck rice and dishes. I also love their complementary (herbal?) soup.This will not be my last visit I am certain.

Duck Rice Set

I ordered the duck rice set. It comes with duck meat, toufu, cucumber and soup. The soup is good, brewed with herbs I supposed. Can taste the herbs/medicinal smell, which i particularly liked. The chilli paste is good too (and best of all, free flow - especially for those who likes chilli). The rice is not too oily and well cooked, but a little cold (perhaps due to the fact that it was prepared long ago). Otherwise, a good meal for the price.

This duck rice stall is pretty good. The braised gravy is savoury without being overly sweet. The duck was quite well braised and tender. The gravy thus complemented the duck really well. If you like yam rice, then you will find pretty good yam rice with yam bits here. They also have herbal duck soup and kway chap. I prefer the herbal duck soup. The soup is obviously boiled for a long time and thus has a strong herbal taste.

Everytime i head to Bugis, i will skip over to this coffee shop for the delicious braised duck rice. The food at this coffee shop is much cheaper than the food you find in the shopping mall's food court. and the portion is not compromised as well. i like their braised duck, the duck is very chewy and tasty. the gravy is simply awesome. it is pretty thick and when eaten with the rice, it is incredibly good. the rice is very fragrant as well, not too oily.

Specialty Duck Rice set which consist of egg, peanuts, beancurd, preserved vegetables, Duck meat slices and their duck riceAs you can see from the photo, the portion given are very little though the duck meat is soft and tender.  As you can see from the photo, the portion given are very little though the duck meat is soft and tender. I like their rice together with their soup too. I was hanging out at Bugis last Saturday. It was about 10.30pm, there was no much choice for food. We passed-by the duck rice shop and decided to have our supper there. Many friends have told me about the famous braised duck rice at Yu Kee which located exactly opposite of Bugis Junction. Yet, I hardly have chance to eat braised duck rice there.We ordered one duck rice and one Kway Teow. The braised duck meat appeared to be ordinary but surprisingly, it was smooth, tender and totally boneless. D

 Don’t forget about the herbal soup. It was mixed up a number of spices and herbs. Thus, it is tasty and sweet.

 Sitting beside the busy main road, just like other hawker centre, feeling hot and quite uncomfortable. However, it is definitely worthwhile to eat at here. The price considered cheap for me, $4.00 for duck rice and $3.50 for the Kway Teow. I am not a fan of braised duck rice, but I cannot deny that Yu Kee duck rice is impressive.

i ordered the signature braised duck rice from the duck rice stall. It cost me around $4 for a plate. The plate includes a small portion of salted vegetable, some braised peanut, braised egg, braised toufu and of course the braised duck. Yam rice is good...there's not much places you can find yam rice in Singapore. So this is considered good for yam rice lover...The duck is still alright, not a bad place to have duck rice, the chili is good too. It is cheap too. The duck meat was tender but the sauce on it was too salty. If there was really any hint of herbs and spices being used to cook the duck, then I must say that the saltiness covered the other flavors. However it is one of my favorite patrolling stall in bugis.

Yu Kee also has 2 special chili sauce - one similar to Sambal with ikan bilis that enhance the flavor while the other slightly tangy garlic chili sauce give a refreshing taste to the food.

Old coffee shop setting nearby a busy road. If you prefer air-con environment, can try the other outlets at foodcourts.

Eating here is similar to eating at hawker centres except the fact that you are so closed to the road. Quite a stuffy place to eat, the tables are so close to each other, it's a little uncomfortable. Eating here, however, tastes a whole lot better compared to take away. The soup is very nice and somewhat sweet, the sauce is thick and nice.

Costly and long queues will not stop you from going to this store. The highlight of the coffeeshop, the duck rice is well sought after. Takeaway tastes as good!Tofu is soft and smooth, the duck meat is well tender and the sauce is oh so savoury! The chilli paste is spicy and yet sweet at the same time too! The braised egg adds on the a wholesome meal. With a soup dark and strong enough to go with the overall, this is a definite stand out in Bugis.

Had the duck noddles at $3 a bowl and i think it's good value for money because it's very tasty and at $3 the duck portion were generous.Noddles came in black thick sauce which were very fragrant and the duck were simply delicious and they serve you a bowl of soup brown in colour like the sauce but equally tasty.

I ordered the Happy Duck Rice set which comes with the egg and toufu which costs $3.50. The duck meat is fresh and tender, served with the sauce and fragrant rice, the entire meal combination tasted great. Located prominently at the main road along Liang Seah Street, you will not miss the stall for sure.
