Mango Sago with Pomelo

I am a big fan of the Mango Sago with Pomelo dessert served here. It may be a tad expensive, but one bowl of this dessert packs generous portions of diced fresh mango, pomelo bits and sago, served in a rich, concentrated mango puree. It is a cold dessert and it is especially refreshing when eaten on a scorchingly hot day or after a meal.

After having a meal, we walked down to Liang Seah Street to have dessert at Ah Chew Dessert. Once we arrived, there was very crowded. and we had been arranging to seat outside of the shop.

The menu was put under the glass of the table and we may decide before taking an order. We ordered Herbal Jelly, Aloevera Strawberry, Yam with Sago, and mix fruit ice-cream.

For me, their dessert is not so special and a bit over-priced. We can't enjoy our dessert at all because once we ordered and having the dessert, a waiter was standing beside us always asking in Chinese:"have you finished?" I know there is a queue of peoples there waiting for table, but they shouldn't standing beside the table and keep chasing the customer who having the dessert there. Moreover, we heard some of the waiter just shouted the customer to ask them queue "properly". There is not a clear sign there to let customer queue and how the customer know where to queue especially for the first time customer.

We felt very stressed to having this "bitter" dessert.

The menu was so comprehensive that I wanted to take away double share for each of us so we could try out the various desserts they serve. Went here to relax after my BFF's concert with a couple of my close friends, and this place is highly recommended I tried a mango sago, which I found really delightful and refreshing, something that I would actually come back for, and the mango was of an appropriate serving, which made my money all the more worth. My other friends chose honeydew sago and even a durian mango sago! They really have A LOT of desserts, you'll be absolutely spoilt for choice

Ah Chew Desserts serves really good desert! Super love their peanut paste and black sesame paste! Not too thick to make you feel sick halfway. Just the right touch to keep you finishing the bowl of goodie! Prices are very reasonably fixed too. Great place for dessert at a great great price! Yummilicious!

 I am a fan of Black Glutinous Rice and I like it with coconut. But this one at Ah Chew Desserts spice up the ordinary Black Glutinous Rice. Ice cream in Black Glutinous Rice? How will it taste like? It actually turned out to be a little surprise! It was that good that he was so willing to trade his Honeydew Sago with mine.

After dinner nearby, my family and i decided to try out Ah Chew's desserts because the exterior of the shop looked inviting, moreover, it was rather packed inside. We ordered a total of 5 types of dessert: Almond paste, sesame seed paste, ginger beancurd, peanut paste and papaya in freshmilk. The almond paste's taste was a little too strong for my liking but i guess its an acquired taste. Both the sesame seed and peanut paste were far too watery, i could hardly taste the sesame or peanut and the viscosity of the 'paste' was more water than paste! The ginger beancurd is definitely not for those who aren't fans of (1) Ginger (2) Spice (3) Strong smells. Papaya in freshmilk was also a failure, the papaya did not taste nice in freshmilk at all because the strong taste of freshmilk overpowered the papaya and the result was a very odd match. They should have stuck to coconut milk.
Overall taste wise it was very disappointing.

Placed our orders & the desserts came quite fast, although there were alot of people.
The thing i like about this place is that they serve both hot and cold desserts, plus you can have additional toppings, such as ice-cream on top of your desserts. Had a really satisfying 'desserts meal', haha!
Liked the mango sago with pomelo BEST! ^^

Thing to note: Place is quite cramped, so try not to bring shopping bags or whatsoever in.

i went to ah chew's with my girlfriend for a nice afternoon tea. i ordered the almond paste as i was craving for something rich in flavour. i love the smoothness of their almond paste, it simply glides down my throat. the almond taste is quite strong, it really refreshes your mouth. there is no after taste and this almond pasta is not too sweet as well. i really this place to all almond paste lovers!

I'm a die hard fan of Ah Chew! Delicious mango sago and this time i had black glutinous rice with vanilla ice cream. The combination of cold and creamy vanilla ice cream with traditional Black Glutinous Rice and a bit of toasted almond flakes was really a good hit. The combination is just perfect! Really an awesome cooling dessert especially on a hot sunny day!

It is such a mouthful for a simple dessert after a heavy dinner.Somehow, someday when i brought one of my friends from aus to try out this dessert. the service was terrible. the mango pamelo sago turns out very watery and not as generous portion as they use to gave. I order orh nee, which takes them 1 hour to serve it to me!! it totally ruin up my day! i requested to cancel my order as we are rushing to somewhere but they kept giving me a blank promises that orh nee is ready in 5 mins. worst of all, the orh nee was serve in half as if someone has eaten half before serve it to me.

will not bring any friend there anymore, bad service, long q, and pricey.

I'm glad to find a home make dessert stall with a great dessert menu at resonable pricing.The barley bean curd with ginko nuts are really superb,just right taste and not too sweet with generous servings of ginko nuts.Almond paste is smooth and creamy and not too loud on its almond taste and sweetness.Sago mango is another of my favourite and i visit this shop at least 3 times a week for my dessert craving and lucky that i work nearby.
