Never knew that Taste Paradise and Paradise Dynasty belonged to the same paradise group. Saw this queue of crowd outside the restaurant and not at Taste Paradise, decided to head on to the one with queues.

Took some time to be seated. Along the tables, saw that most tables ordered their xiao long bao. Decided to go for a try but the tough choice came when I had to choose the flavours.

Decided to go for nothing that exotic but yet tolerable; the black truffle.
The presentation was acceptable but nothing to leave me WOAH.
The texture of the skin was quite full of flour but it did not take effort to accidentally break open the xiao long bao. Took a couple of tries before I could hold 1 without breaking it open

The taste of the black truffle is not mind blowing but definitely leaves an impression. Wet indeed, the soup tastes great along with the fungus. Very tender fillings and the after taste lingers for a moment.
The chilli paste is a little too oily, but yet again, without the oil, the chilli would not look that appetizing. Not too spicy, the chilli oil helps to moisture the dry chilli that goes extremely well with the xiao long bao.
This dish is jin hor jiak! Must try! Nom Nom Nom

This is lotus wrapped glutinous rice from paradise dynasty. The fragance of the lotus leaf really trigger my appetite. Their glutinous rice is steamed to soft yet chewy. inside has chicken, scallop, mushroom and dried prawn. Their dried prawns are in giant size, no wonder the glutinous rice taste extremely delicious.2 wrapped glutinous rice were served per order. So enough for 2 persons to eat.

Definitely prefer the Sweet & Sour Soup from Paradise Dynasty to DTF.
Perfect for those cold days

The reason we went for this restaurant was because of its tantalising photos of its xiao long bao which consist of different colours.

So this review will talk about each of the xiao long bao (XLB for short
)

Original XLB

At first i was full of anticipation. Come on, I'm dining in paradise am i? However i started with the first flavour which was the original XLB and it wasn't fantastic. The stock wasn't sweet and flavourful enough, and the minced meat was rough and flaky in texture. The skin however was nice and thin.

Garlic XLB

The garlic one was good. Much more flavourful than the original.

Ginseng XLB

Next was the ginseng flavour which i found a little too over powering. I would have liked it more if it was just a hint of ginseng.

Crab XLB

Where's the crab? They were really quite stingy with the crab.

Cheese XLB

I enjoyed this one as I'm a cheese lover. I would usually destroy anything with cheese in it! Nice cheesy mozarella in it which actually goes well with the pork and broth.

Truffle XLB

I really loved this one. This one had a good balance of flavours. Love the control of truffle flavour in this as if it was just right. Quite a complex flavour. Leaves a lingering aroma of truffles in your mouth. Delicious.

Being a huge of XLB's, my friend and I got really excited when we saw that Paradise Dynasty had come up with 8 different types of XLB's; Original, Ginseng, Foie Gras, Black Truffles, Crab Roe, Cheese, Garlic and Szechuan.

Afraid of being too adventurous, we decided to stick to the safer options which were the Original as well as the Cheese.
We had to order Original as we wanted to compare it to Din Tai Fung's XLB's which are our favourite.
After trying out Paradise Dynasty, I can safely say that I still prefer Din Tai Fung's XLB's as it is juicier and the meat is definitely more tender.

As for the cheese XLB's, it was definitely a unique spin as compared to the original XLB's. Being huge fans of cheese, my friend and I liked the cheese XLB's....initially. However after a couple of XLB's, the cheese became too overpowering and we felt a little jelat.
That's not to say that the cheese XLB isn't good. It IS good but only in small amounts before it gets too overpowering.
Will definitely be a better option to share it among more people!

So if you do pop by Paradise Dynasty and are a cheese fan, do give the Cheese XLB's a try! And of course if you're more adventurous, try the other flavours!

Also, the ambience of this place is very relaxed and laidback and the interior is gorgeously designed! The staff is very attentive and courteous and will refill your Chinese Tea often. Great place for family dinners and you'll love the interior decor!

The food took quite a while to come but after all .... all good things deserve a wait.

The price of food and the long wait at this restaurant could definitely be justified by its ambiance and taste of food! We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of their xiao long bao. I look forward to going back to this restaurant again! (:

Two saturdays ago, me, together with a group of friends met up in town. I, being the only girl with a whole group of 7 guys, we were automatically repelled from the overwhelming human traffic.

We spent a while deciding where to settle and finally leaned towards a place recommended by one of his friends.

He took us to the uppermost floor in ION Orchard, where this Chinese restaurant called Paradise Dynasty was quietly sandwiched between other bigger retailers.

But don’t be fooled. There were hoards of customers patiently awaiting their turn to be seated. A long waiting line and no one complaining? I knew in an instant that this place was going to be something.

Twenty minutes flew by in the company of good friends and before we knew it, there we were, seated and staring at the menu, spoilt for choice and undecided on what to eat.

We ordered different types of La mien dishes, wanton soup, the traditional xiao long baos and the highlight of our meal - the signature Paradise Dynasty xiao long bao.

A crate decked with 8 colorful Xiao Long Baos is definitely not a usual sight. The ones we commonly see are the plain and boring white-flour skin ones at Chinese restaurants like Din Tai Fung and Crystal Jade.

Paradise Dynasty takes it up not one, not two, but eight notches to bring us eight colorful shades of dumplings – each with its very own uniquely special flavor.

In each crate, you will get eight first-of-its-kind xiao long baos like the original meat-filled dumpling, ginseng, foie gras, black truffle, crab roe, cheese, garlic & szechuan.

At first bite, they were quite a culture shock to our tastebuds. They were so unlike the usual yet so deliciously good.

I would strongly recommend Paradise Dynasty.
Not only does the dining atmosphere feel really posh, the food there is top of the game. And surprisingly, prices are quite affordable.

Whether you like it or not…

I’LL BE BACK!

The xiao long bao were really amazing, you get to choose your own soup base, either in 10 pieces of one flavour or it comes with 8 pieces, 8 different flavors.

I must say the xiao long bao was worth waiting and I will definitely go back again.

White - Original, Yellow – Cheese, Green - Ginseng, Pink - Szechuan, Beige – Crab Roe, Black – Truffle, Grey -Garlic, Orange – Foie Gras.

Perhaps we were too overwhelmed by these attention-grabbers, resulting in having too high expectation. Of course there were some outstanding ones like the Truffle Dumpling which topped the list & the Cheese Dumpling was surprisingly yummy.

The Foie Gras Dumpling tasted more than Prawns & we didn’t like the scented Szechuan Dumpling. Besides these Signature Dumplings, we also ordered:

Overall, the food was not too bad & prices are kept reasonable. It's just that I think the Xiao Long Bao is over-rated. I guess if you’re in some funky mood & would like to try something unique, the casual eatery is a place to have your meal after shopping at ION.

This is a close view of the 8 flavour xiao long baos

The 8 flavours were as follow

The original (white)
Ginseng (green)
Foie gras (brown)
Black truffle (black)
Cheese (yellow)
Crab roe (orange)
Garlic (grey)
Szechuan (pink)

It taste too good to be true! and only cost 13.80 dollars for 8 flavoured xiao long baos! Considering the ingredients needed to make them is worth the value. I WILL RECOMMEND THIS

But having xiao long baos for dinner is totally not filling at all. So i ordered a bowl of noodle.

The noodle taste normal and the soup taste really nice and simple.

Overall, the environment is really great. Not only it is clean, the service is excellent! i will definitely come here again!

Headed to paradise dynasty for dinner with friends! We purchased coupons from groupon, so each ‘long’ of xiao long baos was cheaper compared to its usual price. Their flavours are very unique compared to the normal ones. My favourite was the truffle xiao long bao! We also had their reccomended spicy poached beef la-mian. It was very delicious! Flavorful and the portion was generous, but was abit too oily.
