My friends ordered other pastas and I've tried them. They are nice enough but nothing beats my Mediterranean Seafood Spaghetti.
They serve their pasta with a side of salad that is dressed in their own special tangy yet refreshing sauce. Very appetising indeed.
I am definitely a fan!

The Mentaiko Shrimp Spaghetti was really just a reinvented aglio olio with mentaiko (marinated pollock roe). The roe is creamy and savoury and has a delicious hint of sweetness. When eaten with the al dente spaghetti, it's perfect! The shrimps are bouncy and not overcooked, complementing the sweetness of the roe. It's a really simple spaghetti but it captured my heart with its sincere essence.

There's a good range of pastas to choose from -tomato, cream or oil based. There are some distinctly western ones while the one I went for (mentaiko shrimp!) is certainly skewed towards Nippon influences. My friend ordered the smoked duck spaghetti -OK to be honest I find smoked duck a little strange for me and I'm not a fan, but she said it goes well with the oil based spaghetti too and the flavours weren't too overpowering. So that's that - I stick by my stand and recommend the Mentaiko Shrimp one

I ordered the Yuba, Shrimp, Mozzarella & Onsen Egg Pasta under the Western Style

It was something i wanted, lots of different ingredients in one dish!
What's nice is that it comes with a complimentary soup to go along with the dish

The pasta was very tasty an i love the egg and the fresh ingredients, definitely worth another trip soon!

I ordered a "half-half" set meal C - Carbonara with Yolk & Bacon & seafood pasta (I think it was named something similar) that comes with a small bowl of soup and green tea. It was extremely filling!!! I had initially thought that the portions would be small since it is half-half but when it was served, it felt like 2 main dishes. Super full!

Shrimp, Avocado & Fresh Herb with Genovese Sauce Pasta This costs me about $16.50 with GST and service charge. I felt that the pasta was too oily (could see a lot of oil below) but since they use extra virgin olive oil, I feel less unhealthy eating it. My best friends chose to have the Chicken and Mushroom with Porcini Cream Sauce ($12.70++) and Cabonara with Yolk & Bacon ($12.10++). Both of which looked really good, but I know cream sauce base always make me feel really jelat easily and I wouldn't be able to finish it.

So I decided to go with the Lobster Bisque Soup Spaghetti ($15.50++). I really liked this version, much better than the usual Western spaghetti from other restaurants. Surprisingly, this Japanese restaurant managed to conjure up a really tasty and thickly rich broth for the pasta to be soaked in. Every mouthful is very solid and flavoured. I didn't stop till I finished the entire plate. Definitely recommended!

Here is a snapshot of the menu for me to remember the price:

I like the service here, they are really prompt and attentive to our needs. One disturbing point is the fact that we are seated right next to the glass windows, which totally made me feel like a zoo animal as onlookers keep peering into my food as if I can't see them. Yes I can. It's a two-way glass window yo.

This is easily one of the best places to eat in Star Vista for a "proper meal". I prefer this to the rest which I've tried - Boston Seafood Shack, Hot Tomoto and Central Hong Kong Cafe.

Tried the pasta here and it tasted nice. I ordered sesame spaghetti and the sauce is creamy with a taste that you won't get sick off easily. The staff here are quite friendly and very efficient as well. Place is good with comfortable seats available for relaxing while having your meals. The portion is also quite filling so it the money was worth it. This plate costs $14 without tax and service charge.

I don't think I can find another dessert better than this. Love the soft and moist text of the chocolate cake. Initially I thought it's gonna be weird to eat it with chocolate ice cream, but I surprised. Pleasantly surprised that it taste so well to be eaten together!

Here's what I had. Avocado & Shrimp with Cheese Cream Sauce. $12.10 (excl GST and service charge)

I've not seen spaghetti prepared with avacado and I just had to try it. The verdict wasn't too bad. In fact the avocado blended quite well with the rest of the ingredients. Love the cream sauce. Prawns were fresh. Spaghetti was cooked till al dente.

Would definitely go back to try out the other flavours.

We went to the outlet at Junction 10 and when we saw that The Star Vista has one outlet there, lunch menu has been decided. As the mall is pretty accessible & there is church service on Sundays, it tends to get quite crowded. Do take note that customers are only allowed to get a table when your entire party had arrived.

I had the Standard Chartered Promotion which entitles me to a pasta, salad, soup & soft drink/orange juice/apple juice for $18.80nett.
For pasta, I ordered the Hokkaido Cheese Cream Soup Spaghetti with Scallop, Corn & Potato.

It was DELICIOUS!!

Pasta: Spaghetti was springy. It wasn't too soft or too hard.
Soup: They add a slice of butter into the soup which gives it a tinge of buttery taste; enhancing the soup. Butter is 'removable'. Also, it is not soupy in the sense that half the bowl is just soup. It's more like gravy & just probably about 5 spoonful left after all the pasta and ingredients are eaten.
Advice from my friend who prefers tomato base: It is a creamy soup base so if you don't like cream, you might need to pre-empt yourself.
Ingredients: There were generous portion of salmon, bacon and crabmeat, potato, carrots, asparagus, fresh scallop, corn and a dash of cheese.

Salad: It was more like thinly sliced white onions than lettuce salad. I liked it because of the brown bits (which I have no idea what are they :/). Salad is quite salty probably due to the dressing. Overall, it is quite a refreshing bowl.
HINT: Tilt the bowl so the salad at the bottom won't be sitting in the saltiness.
Soup: Quite a small cup. After the saltiness of the salad, drink the soup to wash it away. Soup has a generous bits of spring onions floating at the top and small cubes of tofu sitting at the bottom.

Orange juice: It isn't just concentrated juice diluted in water kind. I was impressed that the orange juice has orange sacs! WOW!!

It was a extremely satisfying dinner and quoting Arnold Schwarzenegger.. I"LL BE BACK!!

The restaurant has a very jap feel as there were some wooden decorations around and we used chopsticks to eat the pasta! I thought that the tables arrangement was a little cramped and i was practically sitting right next to the customer next to me. One of the staff that served us was not so fluent in English and so we had to point out what we wanted. Can see her trying very hard! So kudos to her!

Salad: Felt like onion salad as the veggies that forms the base of the salad was actually onion sliced into thin strips. It was a little too raw for me and but the salad sauce which had a tinge of saltiness covered up the rawness of the onion. Overall, very refreshing.

The pasta was not presented as so! Had to arrange it as we were eating away happily and forgot to snap a pic! Pasta was springy and the duck meat was soft and tender. Olive oil added which boost the taste of it. 1-2 strips of corn to enhance the aesthetics of the dish.

Again, pasta was not served as so. Have nearly finish eating this dish. The soup was creamy and flavorful, quite a lot of milk added i think. Generous serving of ingredients added includes carrots, potatoes and asparagus, bacon. The carrots and potatoes were cooked to the right temperature, not too hard and not too soft

Lastly, the shrimp and squid. They gave 4 shrimps and 3 squids, had bacon in it as well. They also provided a slice of lemon to add to the pasta. I think the sourness of the lemon enhanced the taste of the pasta.
Shrimp and squid were deep fried but the batter wasn't that thick, could taste the 2 ingredients very well.

What i didn't like about the restaurant is one has to go to the counter to make payment. The counter was right next to the kitchen so while you wait for the bill to be printed out, you have to keep dodging them as they come out with the piping hot dishes. This might be a business trick as you'll see the food being prepared and it smelt so nice; which makes you want to go back again!

I had the Mediterranean Seafood Spaghetti which is really packed with fresh prawns, clams, mussels, squid, scallops served in their luscious tomato cream soup sauce. For those who want the best worlds between tomato sauce and cream sauce can choose this spaghetti. I felt the tomato cream sauce was not too thick, but still retained a little creamy texture infused with light tomato flavour. It combines the best of both tomato and cream sauce without being too jerlek. The seafood was really generous and fresh and it was a joy slurping the spaghetti in the fantastic soup sauce and seafood. The spaghetti was al dente, not too overcooked and soft but still firm and chewy.

Spicy beef sausage pasta. Don't really like tomato based pasta, but this totally change my view on them. It tasted awesome! This time I forgot to request for less-spicy for this pasta - to my surprise it wasn't really that spicy in the first place. You gotta be careful with the chopped red dried chilli though, it burns when you bite into them. I had to pick them out one by one. The mild spiciness of the sauce complements the tomato and beef sausage very well!

This dessert - that look seemingly decent - is da bomb. Chocolate ice cream on warm, moist chewy brownie topped with fresh strawberries... Is there anything better to complete this pasta meal?

Cost: $24.90 (inclusive of GST and Service charge)
